thinking about picking one up cause I need a new dvd player anyways. I've had real bad luck with dvd players not playing certain dvd's and vcd's.
anything I should know about buying an xbox? should I get an older model on ebay, any rev things? I would like to get xbox live eventually too.

I think you NEED the remote for the Xbox to play dvd's unlike the PS2. It's like 20 bucks.

you don't need the remote to play DVD's and no any unit will do just fine
