Instead of buying a new computer, I picked up a xbox360. right out of the box it locks up every few minutes.
I get it swapped out with a new (referbed) xbox, and this weekend, I run a ethernet cable for xbox live.
Everything checks out good, but I cannot connect to live. I call m$ and after about 30 minutes on hold the tech finally says "Somone from microsoft will call you back within 72 hours. There is a known problem with certain boxes connecting to live, and yours is one of them. You will be getting some compensation".
yay, thanks for sending me a broken box to replace my broken box!

a) Why would you buy an xbox360 instead of a computer?
b) Why would you replace a broken new one with a refurb?
c) Why would you buy an Xbox360 in the first place?

c) uh, cause its the console you can buy right now. Also, my brother works for m$ and can buy games for $10

You should have waited for either A) second revision or later (probably 10 months after release) B) PS3.
Your options now are A) Take it like a big d**k, right in the ass and smile B) Go kick Uglar.

Tech01: But sir! We haven't gotten all the bugs out yet! There are heating issues inherent to the design, and many of the parts that we manufacture in third world countries are DOA.
Bill Gates: I find your lack of faith disturbing.
*Force Grapple*
Tech01: Ugh.. .. . . . ..
Bill Gates: Tech02. You are in command now. What is your opinion?
Tech02: We should have it ready by christmas.
This has been a public service announcement. Remember, every Xbox360 you buy makes Microsoft lose money.

Compare 1 million people buying versus 1M people not buying. More money lost when $480,000,000 in income simply never exists.
