Everyone thought after world war 1 that it was going to be the end of all wars. Everyone hoped after world war 2 their would be no more wars. The fact of the matter is no matter what we do to prevent it it`ll happen. Theres always gonna be some crazed person(from anywhere) thats gonna try to take over the world. For one thing us fighting in iraq right now is pointless. I mean oil is gonna keep rising in price due to the fact that their is less of it by the year. Every country runs off oil and its that need for oil that has wars starting all the time. World war 3 is a positive thing maybe it`ll be in 5 years or 100 years but the world will end due to this "great war" due to the fact that our technolodgy is way 2 advanced and should have been kept at world war 1 stage due to the fact that technolodgy is gonna be the death of us. So all these politicians saying world war 3 will nothappen their full of shit. Oil runs countries. World dominance motivates people. The world will be gone in 5-100 years its a bad place for our kids to live in now a days. So i mean ima just say goodbye incase in 5 years we might all be dead due to the "great war"

I highly doubt there would ever be WW3 simply because the USA can take care of it's self to say the least.
If you haven't noticed how we handled 9-11 with instant basically ownage on Iraq then just think what we would do if another country tried something like this
Now the funny thing here is the UK has a lot of peace treaty's and the United Nations and all that jazz to make them sorta "anti-war" unless they really need to use force so i doubt they would do anything
And well im guessing no other country would prove a threat with great array of weapons at our army's disposal (USA) such as biological and nuclear etc etc...
Now not to say other county's dont have these weapons but they dont have the brute force to actualy get anywhere because we most likely have
a undercover in every country right now gathering intell about any suspicious activity
So to sum this up i dont think it will happen.... At least not anytime soon.

I believe world war 3 will be africas invasion of europe. Think of it as a peasant uprising (not saying the euros have done anything wrong by the africans).
When there are more poor than rich, the poor will decide they want what the rich have.

Will be a huge international dispute between europe and america dunno where russia and china will fall under but we shall see. Guess when the oil is finished it may start.. anyway.. ww4 will be fought with sticks and stones as they say..

The idea is that the population is expanding so fast that there wont be enough drinking water to go around.

Guys, no matter what you think or say the world is going to come to end in our lifetime. America is unamously hated by every single country in the world except for israel. Russia will go back into a depression and they will want money to dig themselves out. And how do you get money when your resources are becoming scarce? you attack other countries. And what happens when this country is allied with a superpower? the country gets into a war to help protect this country. Henceforth china is attacking tibet right now. So it is very likely within the next 3 years the "great war" will be the end of us all. And for another the great civilization of the aztecs predicted the world going to a end in 2 years. 2010 and with oil prices the way they are and tensenses building i am believe the war will happen in 2009 and we`ll be dead by 2010.

How in the world do you figure that? That is just a foolish, uneducated statement, in my opinion.
The world is not going to end in our lifetime. Nor is the United States. There's not going to be a world war 3. America does now know how to take care of itself. Oh and the world won't end 'til millions of years from now. It'll end when the Sun blows up, which it eventually will because it's a star. Every star blows up and dies eventually, and when it does, it'll wipe out the entire Milky Way Galaxy, destroying life as we know it today.

I think that the USA, in the next 5 years, will get so p****d(sorry to use that word but it's true) at the Middle Eastern oil suppliers and they will threaten them with war. Afterward, the Middle Eastern oil suppliers will either respond by lowering oil prices or by launching a nuclear missle or something like that. Then, everyone else will want to get involved and that will be WW3.

All it requires is for a one glorious country to elect a Narcissistic and deceitful person who has amazing public speaking skills and can arose support. Then they form a coalition with another party, then get majority votes and are elected to run the country. Then the prime-minister/ president of the country dies, the head of the party fuses both roles, becoming a sole dictator of the country. Then the country fully adopts fascist ideals, implemented using police force, creating a police nation. Then we gleichsaltung the whole country. A MOST IMPORTANTLY, UNITE UNDER A COMMON GOAL.
Through these simple and easy steps, one arrogant and self proclaimed idiot may one day start attacking countries for 'lebraunsrum' ( living space ), and thus start a World War Three. BTW America is not as glorious as whoever was proclaiming it, quite a trash-hole actually. Commercialism. Big business.

If you read something about Hobsbawn you'll learn that every world war has started from different social and cultural causes.
WWI started because every European countries meant to solve all theyr economic problems in a huge blood bath. If imperial Germany could eventually win the war, it would have struck Allies in a way they were dipendent from Germany's economy for the next 50 years.
WWII started from a real madman named Hitler who did nothing to hide his psychologycal problems in his speech about jews and about his "hunger" for more "vital space". When Allies get to know that these polital ambitions could have no end, only war was the solution.
In modern world war is started for economic motivations as it was under Roman Empire, but the way this goal is achieved (gain resources) it's different.
The past 2 WW showed the world that if a big and well armed country start a war against the rest of the world, the result is: millions of deads (and there is no government left that can stand the civil protests for this, see Vietnam war for USA or Afghanistan for Soviet Union, here in Italy the death of just 10 Italian soldiers brought to a country-size funeral), economic disaster for all who partecipate the conflict (no matter if that country gets no bombs on its factories).
In my opinion WW3 would start as an unseen economic war (probably already started, just see an economic giant such China). If you rule economically another country it's much less expensive that move your troops into it and conquer and occupy for 10-20-30 years.

People learns nothing from history.
There won't be another world war not just because it's too scary, or ugly, or degradating ... it's not anymore economically convenient. There are better ways to conquer/destroy the enemy or just get rid of them.
