have you ever seen an accident? like a really bad traumatic thing?
my son his friend nicholas and his 4 year old little sister saw a girl they know in grade 5 get hit off her bike by a van it was bad.
my nick said when the people were helping her and cut her shirt he could see the tire treads across her stomach an ribs and she was having trouble breathing
the other nick said he saw her go flying when the van hit and saw her on the ground moving her one leg trying to get up but she was all 'broken and couldnt'. this ripped my heart out but to hear that four year old little sweety say 'there was blood all ovah da woad and she was cwying her head off' .. that tore my heart out!
i took care of the kids for the night got them all calmed down feeling better stopped the four year old from crying hysterically (poor thing) and they were doing much much better 6 hours later when their mom came to get them.
no news on the girl who got hit yet.. im really hoping shes ok, this must be just horrible for her and her parents... as the kids described it, it took everything in me not to break down and cry in front of them.
anyway, im proud of my nick, he stayed there. he said he knew there was nothing he could do but he stayed till they loaded her in the ambulance and he had told her its ok people are coming to help you and stayed till they did. *he also asked an adult there to see them safely across the road*.
what a horribly thing for those kids to see and im soo p****d! the crossing guard apparently wasnt there this morning, nor after school either and this is when it happened! there was no crossing guard and no substitute one.. this totally could have been prevented!
im so emotionally over welmed from keeping it together for so long in front of the kids. think im gonna make a tea, sit out on the balcony and have myself a good cry.

I haven't, but that sounds horrible regardless. Make sure you talk to your kid about it later on, kids sometimes repress painful memories for long periods of time.
I really don't mean to pick your story apart on a technicality, but which was it? Did she get hit knocked off her bike by the van or did she get run over? I guess I don't understand how she could have gone flying AND have tread marks across her stomach.

It's funny when little kids get hit by cars.
Those f*****s can be launched a good 30-40 yards if you swing the ass end around and hook em with it.

ive seen some horrific ones myself... worse is hard to choose i mean probly laurie because she was 16 drunk driver hit her she flew over the car and ya heard the crunch when she landed.. she started convulsing on the pavement and blood was coming outta her ears mouth i nose.. i knew she was f****d. what was worse was her parents had to fight the courts to pull the plug even though she was brain dead.. took almost a year.
as heart wrenching as that was cause it was someone i knew and i witnessed it and it broke my heart to lose such a great friend... it is hard to not think of the guy stuck in the car on fire when trying to recall the 'worst' ive witnessed.
ever smell burning flesh? ever see people trying to fight to get a trapped man outta a vehicle engulfed in flames while he screams.. those god awful screams that shake your soul.
i saw a kid get hit by a car before from stepping out between parked cars. it freaked me out and i called 911 right away and ran over to see if he was ok.. but that guy in the car on fire, the memory of it... it shook me to the core.

apparently she went boomin down on her bike out of the fenced allyway and across the cross walk area (the way teh boys told it) she was booming pretty fast and didnt stop get off and walk her bike but just kinda glanced and kept going .
that cross is weird tehre is a stop teh one way where the T meets the road that runs behind the school (which would be the top of the T) well if looking at teh way to go to the school the right side of the T has a curved bend and a road off the side of it with a stop.
the van either came around teh bend or the corner.. they didnt see which it was going pretty fast. hit her and she flew.. crunched the shit outta her bike then squeeled brakes left skid marks across the walk way but ran across her.
the little girl is hurtin to say the least.. so if ya pray please do cause i think shes gonna need all the help she can get.

I remember seeing an accident as a kid. It was a VW Bug on it's top, totally engulfed in flames with the driver still in the car screaming for help. But no one could get to them. They ended up dying before the fire trucks could get to the scene. Still haunts me to this day.

The best I've seen is a chicks headless body still pouring blood. A couple guys were chasing(playing) their GFs in another car. They passed me on the main road around here and less than a minute later when I caught up the girls car was on its roof. The girl that was driving wasn't buckled up and her head went through the windshield right after it flipped...squish off came her head. Another f****d up detail is my uncle was right behind me and being a sheriff's deputy he had to stop and cover her with a tarp.
Other then that I can't remember any other really f****d up thing. Just various broken bones/cuts and my own quad wreck(but that was fun).

I see a guy, almost every day, who tried to commit suicide by sticking his head in a gas oven. Does that count?

When I was 7 or 8 my family went up to the mountains to go camping, and it was colder than we anticipated and we didn't bring enough blankets. We decided we would pack up and make a quick trek down the mountain to a local Wal-mart or K-Mart or something to buy some blankets.
The road down was very windy and was right on the edge of a cliff, the entire way. I've always been a little freightened of heights, and looking over that cliff as my dad(a speedy driver) sped down the hill sure didn't help. About half way down the hill we noticed a car was stopped at the side of the road with his blinkers on.
We pulled over to see if they needed assistance, and the man driving the car said he didn't, but the car that went over the cliff probably did. We peer over and an old Jeep had gone over the side of the cliff, which was probably a 75% grade, very steep, and probably about two to three hundred feet.
I waited in the car for a little bit as my dad and the driver of the car attempted to scale down the mountain side to help them out. My dad, being a former search and rescue agent(?) knew what to do and before you knew it he was down there and scoping out the vehicle, which was perched up against a tree.
My dad was able to wrap a rope or something around the little girl that was still inside the car and begin to bring her back up. At this point I got out of the car and walked to the edge. I peered over and my dad had a lifeless body of a girl exactly my age in his arms as he struggled to climb up the hill. I looked at her, and looked at her stomach, where her guts were practically spilling out and I couldn't stop staring at it.
Ever since then I've had a fear of driving near a cliff side.

Before he married my aunt, one of my uncles found his 7yr old daughter's naked, raped corpse on a hillside! Not a cool moment, I would imagine.
Anyway! He killed the guy!

The smell of burning flesh will stay with a person forever. I did see a person jump from about 75 feet up on a water tower, we were called for a possible suicidal person. I lost $20 to my partner cause I said she wouldn't jump. Usually I just see the after effects of people's fate, rare to see it occur. First bounce was about 6-8 feet second about 2.

constant around here.
it's now to the point that the 911 ops know my voice and know where to send help to without me having to tell them...
"hi Mrs S....how many, which lane and do we need to send ambulances?"
it's a bit unnerving sometimes.
We've seen/had:
an SUV roll into the yard, on it's roof
10 cars piled up at the bottom of the driveway
our mailbox flattened more times than I can count
hedge row taken out by a dump truck
body parts in the side yard
dead people scattered here and there around the front of the property *4 bodies since we moved in here 9 years ago*
tractor trailers on top of cars
the list goes on and on.
our house is at the corner of an interesction with a light for a highway. Ya might think it would be a horrible place to live but actually it's pretty perfect. No neighbors to complain about noise, it's easy to find, our road is always cleared of snow, half out property line is maintained by the state and like I said, we can BLAST the outdoor speakers without bothering anyone
I have a supply of road flares donated by the local and state police cause we're on the scene before the emergency ppl are. I know all the cops by name and they tend to look the other way if we do something questionable cause of it LOL. *nothing major, just stuff that if they didn't like you they could make life hell for awhile for ya*
