I would answer that your ISP has some sort of transparent caching (Cisco ,etc) going on.
Video Drivers, etc are things likely to have been downloaded by someone else too, thus you are benefitting from local lan perforance..

I doubt it. While file sizes and transfer rates have increased dramatically. There is a human limit to file sizes, someone has to make a program that big, and transfer rates have been growing much much faster. We are starting to see 5-10 gig games. But I don't see 50+ gig games for a long long time.

If you already had the file on your pc where you donwloaded it the first time, or paused a download/crashed and then restarted it would appear as though your internet was that fast.

Computers mostly generate files that big, not just humans. Consider animation programs... the user doesnt draw 10 gigs worth of animation in a giant sequence, they script the motion and objects and the computer fills in the frame by frame animation.
