I like both games very much. For AC you need a very good pc to run it smootly because the graphics are ownage. Oblivion is still a very good game, lovely gameplay and fun.
If i had to make a choice i would pick AC.

Depends on what you want: Oblivion is a big, like BIG, game with a lot of stuff to do, even more with all the add-ons. If you want to play a game for a lot of hours then play it.

Oblivion is more of a roleplaying game while Assasin's Creed is action packed. If you like Zelda and Grand Theft Auto you'll love Assasin's Creed... some people claim that its too repetitive and I sort of agree but the graphics are breath taking and all the rooftop climbing and acrobatics you do entertained me a lot.

Assassins Creed can get a little tedious as the gameplay can get boring fast. In oblivion you have so many different roles you can play. While playing an assassin in AC is alot more fun and fast paced than Oblivion, It can be a little more satisfying playing in the Oblivion world.

I've played both and enjoyed Oblivion alot more (the Dark Brother Hood quests are really amazing), AC was good too but it gets repetitive and the end is just mass combat which gets tedious since the counter ability which you rely on for 90% of the game is useless because it usually does a K.O. on normal enemies but on the boss enemies it just kicks them away and when you have ~10 enemies on you its hard to run up to the guy you kicked away to finish him off.

Assasins Creed has an awesome end, and they r making a 2nd one, but it kind of gets repititive. Elder Scrolls games are boring to me though so I would go with Assasins creed.

Elder Scrolls has a depth that doesn't even come close to being matched by assassin's creed. I recommend Oblivion hands down.

Prefer Assassian's Creed because of grapics and the special moves. Only thing I don't like is the false advertising. They show him using the crossbow, but you NEVER GET IT! It is so stupid lol.
