for s***s and giggles i'll also accept any input on pocket pc vs palm OS. someone who's used both. I prefer windows. but this palm is damn tempting too http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3024497920&category=38331

I work in computer retail and can tell you to watch out for that Tungsten model. We had alot of returns on those, maybe half of the first few shipments. Ipaqs are a disaster too! I'm not sure what specific problems people were having as I don't work in tech, I just saw the carnage =)

The only handheld I've used extensively is my handspring. It's a shame they don't make 'em anymore... that thing is bulletproof. I use it every day all day long scanning product for my job and put it through so much abuse, but it keeps on ticking! AAA Batteries last three weeks too Razz

However, to answer your question: for my money, I'd go PalmOS everytime. It's intuitive, more stable, generally less expensive, and right now it's the corporate standard outselling pocket pc 4 to 1. Your Palm won't play MP3s... but who cares?

I have a palm pilot and never had any trouble with it. But after the novelty wore off, I never use it. Mostly just bring it along on trips so I can play games on it while flying.

I can't stress this enough.

I have an e310 and it f*****g rocks...I don't think you can get them anymore, but get the 540 or whatever the mid-priced one is.

Handspring make an all-in-one Palm + Mobile phone unit called the Treo. Shown here(http://www.handspring.com). I have the Treo180 which is an older version than the one shown there but I love it to bits.
