I might get crushed for this, but I've been a dell user for a long long time and I've had ZERO issues with them. The tech support, oddly enough is wonderful as well, for the one time that I had to use them.
I currently have a dell laptop that I got in '04 that runs wow great

I build all my PCs. As for laptops Dell has some pretty nice high end laptops and I hear their warranties are pretty good too.

If you go for laptop for easy and simplicity Dell is the way to go.

i love Lenovo and HP they have never failed me. usually i build custom. i have a running theory that dell's have a 2 year self destruct. after 2 years of usage something goes wrong that required maintenance.

if your serious about gaming......its custom built machine or nothing imo.
(of course i am also a tech so i wouldnt dream of buying a proprietary pos like a dell, biggest nightmare i ever had with a PC was my fiancee's XPS power supply going out lol)
