Smart move, Dunn. But something I've come to realize is that people who rarely take sick days always get shit on the next day at work, but people who always call in sick are ignored because it is expected of them.

If I want to take sick days off of work, I have to give my employer a 2-3 day notice. I am the sole representative of a bank at the office, so if I'm not there there is nobody to fill in for me. I once woke up and felt like complete shit and called in sick, and my boss just about shat a brick and asked for more notification. I pussied out and went to work sick. What sucks even more is that I'm a contracter, so I don't get sick days. I want to quit.

as a contract worker I'd say that its more your responciblity to make sure you have another person you know in the field to cover for you in emergancies.
My Buddy is a Contract Computer tech/everything and when someone has passedaway and he had to fly out east he has me or 1 of 3 other techs he knows cover his emergancy calls.

It's a f****d up system. You can't carry sick days over from one year to the next, and you don't get them paid as vacation. They b***h at you if you don't get sick enough, then they b***h at you if you do call in sick too often.

My employer is the contract holder. He hired me to take his spot. So, it's his responsibility to fill in for me if I get sick. Since he works somewhere else he likes to have a notice so he can get a replacement, otherwise he has to leave his office and fill in himself since he doesn't have anybody else that can fill in for me.
