not enough nitrogen and water. put about 3 tablespoons of miricle grow on each plant, and give them about a gallon of water a day.

LOL a gallon ???

First of all make sure you have the right soil.. Anyhow , you should go look it up on a Bud Website. There was this one I came across long time ago that answered every question about growing. I don't remember the name though =/ ...

i think i might know the proble. it might be the nitrogen, i just added some " jobes Plat spikes" or watever for indoor plants and i also think the plants wrent getting ANY fresh air, i had like 3 towls covering the plant and the light so i think that may of just clutterd it or something i am gunna take them off for a day or two and just see how they are

if you put them in an fish tank (big one) and had the light in it as yer light for growing as you put water in it the tank would get misty and the water will build up around the glass thus giving it a tropical light setting

it might help kinda like a green house!

Beat off into the soil your plants are growing in.

I've heard that you shouldn't put anything like miracle grow in pot plants. Also overwatering them can be just as bad as underwatering them

correct, that would be bad to add miracle grow

there are alternatives, i just can't recall what is a good one atm..

i'll check into it when i get home, but it's definately soundling like a nitrogen issue

with our plants we had the lights too close and got brownish yellow spots that went away as soon as we adjusted the lights. make sure your lights are the recommended distance away from the plant. good luck =)

it could be too much fertilizer. was the soil you planted them in pre fertilized? if so thats bad, and could be your problem. alot of the time young plants cant take fertilizer like that. i really doubt its a nitrogen problem, unless its too much nitrogen. it could also be too much light, giving it leaf burn. could be a number of things. like you said airflow could be a problem too. i always keep a fan blowing in the room, like an overhead one. dont directly blow the plant with a fan, but sorta in the direction, that will also strengthen the plants alot if you plan on transplanting them outside.

oh and in response to the miracle grow question..what i do is make bonemeal balls. go to a plant shop and get a smaller sack of bonemeal. then get a medium that will stick stuff together, i use a white powder that hardens the dirt or something like that. you wet down both ingredients and mix them good, form them into balls, and let them dry in the sun till they are hard. take them and place a few around the outside of your plants pot. the reason i do this is, its a slow release type of thing so your plants dont get all the nutrients all at once, causing stress on your plant. the reason i put them on the outside rim of the pot is, only the roots on the outside most are the ones that suck up nutrients.

Just curious, what would be the best set up to grow a few or 10 plants in a basement with a 5'10" ceiling.

Lets see who knows their shit.

Kbarr:
lets say its about 600 sq foot. I would do 6 tables each with there own setup. lighting, res, strain. Thats like 2-3 600 watters on each table. id do those lights because the lumens of 3 600's is greater then 2 1000's. id section off a 10x10 area to be the mothers and have 2 1000's in there. (cloning)

I would line the wall with the door on it with a few exaust fans. The opposite wall would contain passive vents. In between these two i would have 4 or so commercial foggers/humidifiers. (think about the airflow and why theya re there) yah thats alot of heat to vent out i know.

OR you could do air conditioning with co2 incrichment, and you could cut down all that air exchange to the point where it would be just enough fresh air. bad thing about this route is fresh air is better, and you dont wana use even more electricity for the AC.

some of the sections you would need are, mother room, clone/seedling room, veg room, flower room, a drying room (best is a utility closet with a dryer you can run to reduce humidity) and a vent room.

the lighting i would have throug digi timers. I would throw the timing off about 30 minutes every day to keep the electricity company from monitoring me.

this is more then 10 plants by the way. its about 160 plants total, thats around 480 ounces per harvest or so.

so much more i could add but i dont see why id spend all the time.

use ur brain and you can come up with a million good ferts. left over coffee grounds, fish scales leftover from dinner, etc etc. Remember not to use too much of one thing tho. example, i dont pee in my plants because anything above about a teaspoon is waaaay too much nitrate for them and it will burn the leaves.
