I really love the idea of this because getting a instance group is a royal pain in the ass. but it seems no one is useing them yet .....

i went and click the stone for RFD and went abput my Xping elsewhere and it gave me messages for like 2 hours that it was looking for a group for me ... in two hours not 4 other people had clicked it ........

I think they should mod it to port ya back when it does find ya a group so you can save time running all the way back . after all you took the time to run all the way there just to click the rock before ya went XPing ....

anyone had luck with it yet ?

People want passive entertainment. Clicking three buttons in EQ ( LFG pane, Yes I'm LFG, Okay ) was too much to get people groups. They'd rather spam the auction channel, "NEONE DOING POJ????"

It's just human nature. Unless something is going to immediately benefit them, 95% of the people out there will not spend even 1/2 a second to use a tool which might.

I hate people, some times.

I was duoing in BFD with a hunter, and he had apparently activated the meeting stone thingy beforehand, so like halfway through the instanced part, all of the sudden the stone sticks some dude in our group and it's like "uh, hi, you probably can't get to us." Then about 10 minutes later there was a rather abrupt 15 minutes til server down message.

The meeting stones overall are a failure, it was a good idea but most people aren't going to go out to the instance location itself to start LFG when they can just spam in IF/Ogrimarr for a group.

Blizzard should know the #1 most hated event in online gaming is pointless lack of action. Exploring is cool. Retracing your steps for 15 minutes every time you want to make the same journey is lame.

I (and I'm sure others) would gladly pay 1 or 2 gold for an NPC mage to teleport you to the instance.

They need to place meeting stones in Ironforge and Orgrimmar for the dungeons instead of at the dungeon locations themselves.

I agree. I don't understand the appeal of segregating auction houses. It would be like eBay only showing certain auctions based on your IP. " Oh, you wanted Stuffed Animals sold in California, too? You'll have to go to http://cali.ebay.com/cgi/pointless/obfuscation/and/frustration.pl?wasteoftime=true "

I've said this for a while. Either all the Auction houses should be linked, or the one in Gadgetzan should serve as a link between the two, showing everything listed in Gadgetzan, Horde, and Alliance. They also need to put a f*****g tutorial in the auction house explaining the fees and when/where you are losing money. Nothing angers me more than putting something up for a 100 gold buyout and receiving 95 gold. Where did the f*****g 5 gold go? I already paid a g*****n deposit to list the item.

I also support proxy bidding like they have on ebay, unfortunately some moderator at some point said something to the effect of, "we want to reward those who put forth the effort to watch the auctions." So if you actually want to enjoy the game and do the quests instead of like, sitting there doing nothing and hitting refresh for 8+ hours, you're screwed. Proxy bidding == good. Telling people they won't get the items they want unless they stand in the crowded AH in the laggiest zone in the game watching some douchebags debate the merits of the Arcanite Reaper versus Champion in /2 == bad.

The people who sit there on alts continually outbidding their other character's item to raise the price are called proxy bidders? I called them AH campers. Confused
I hate dem b*****s.

Nah, that's not what proxy bidding is. It's a way to keep from having to keep checking your auction every 2 seconds by entering your maximum bid at the outset, and the system increments your bid to 1+the next highest guy's bid.

http://pages.ebay.com/help/buyerguide/bidding-prxy.html

It's just a way to keep from having to sit there refreshing the page.
