Just got accepted today from my first university with a $2500 scholarship. I can't wait to get out of highschool and go to university. I'm just not sure If I should live at home and get a car or move away for school. Lots of my friends are considering moving away, but I'm not sure how if it will really be worth the money.

Oh well, time to live the next 4 or more years madly in debt Crying or Very sad

Brock, in Canada accepted me today.

Im waiting for Macmaster(probably going to be my choice, its closest to home) and Guelph( really good rep, but expensive)

American universities came the other week, but they are extremely expensive and I would have to right SATs...F*** that..

I always get a kick out of the phrase 'go to university.'

We don't say that across the river, we use an article like 'the' or 'a' before univeristy.

'I'm going to a university.' Wink

edit: oh, and don't follow your friends, if you know what I mean. Everyone goes their seperate ways even in the same school. You won't talk to half of 'em at the end of your first semester.

Grats on getting accepted. As far as moving away, I'd highly recommend it. You really miss a lot if you don't live at school - it becomes like a job you go to, instead of a life. You meet a lot fewer people and participate in a lot fewer things, even if you tell yourself you're going to try not to.

Not sure what I'd do if it really came down to dollars and cents, but I'd sure try my hardest to live on/near campus.

good luck! one of my best friends from high school goes to University of British Columbia, im going to go visit her next yr Smile

but yeah, your friends will grow apart no matter if you guys are all living 5 minutes apart or 5 hours. go wherever you feel most at home, and college is all about being in debt. owing the government your soul by the time you get your degree is all part of the fun.

great advice akronn.

I can only ad, living at home is cheaper. Going away to school can make you grow up quicker. If you can afford it, go away to school
