i've read in a bunch of reviews in magazines, and gaming sites that the load times are horrindous...gamespot said it took them a minute to zone? What kind of s****y as computers are these people using? I dont have a great computer and I zone in 15 seconds at the MOST. The worst review so far has been gamespots...I just kept laughing at how wrong they were the whole time reading it. I mean do these people play for 1 hour, quit, and review?

Load times are typically about 30 secs for me, its pretty bad, but it's not terrible.

Once I get out of the city (where you zone like every 5 minutes for something) im sure it won't be such a bother.

Loading for me between zones usually takes about 5-10 seconds, I have in some cases lately taken about 20 seconds to zone into parts of Qeynos. It's not bad at all really. Smile As for those editor reviews, they're just opinions, no one should at all whatsoever take their words for facts. The only true way you're going to know if a game's good or it is if you actually play it yourself.

Mainly the cities are horribly designed.

The zones are too big, the run speed too slow, things are even more difficult to find that in original EQ. Anyone who reviewed it probably barely made it to the commons.

I can agree that the city zones are a bit too big especially since that's where a majority of the server population will be at a lot of the times. As for the design of it, I love it completely. And yea, the reviewers more likely barely made it into their home cities IF that far before stopping to review it I bet.

The 2 main cities were designed to be used by everyone at every level. They aren't your little starter towns like in EQ1 they are the main and only cities in the game.

Way too many useless NPCs in cities, house etc...

A smaller city would have been better.

Some of the npcs are useless from what I can tell, but a bunch of them, wheither they give out quest or not are definately related to a quest that's from someone else, so they're not completely useless.

Few are useless really... I'm sure that at some point you'll get a quest from each and everyone of them

Count on it, the ones that dont talk to you or say anything importatant most likely have level locked quests or are -part- of a quest.

There isnt a single NPC in the game that doesnt have a quest, or is part of one, except guards and some vendors.

Zoniing for me is 8-15 seconds. I love zones, it creates perfect pop size and allows for hugely "flavored" areas. It's hard to go from forest to lava "gradually".

I like the size of things too. In fact, I just hate 1 thing - South and East Freeport, You have to run a zig zag snake to get to the other side and it takes forever.

I do agree with movement speed. SoW + Jboots = EQ base run.

If game critics are anything like movie critics, their opinion = jack and shit.

I logged into EQ after playing EQ2.. even a level 1 noob in EQ runs like twice as fast as a player in EQ2.

The only zone that f***s with me is NFP, and I swear there's a mem leak in it because after going there no matter where else I am I start to zone like shit. Even into empty tradeskill instances.

Thats stupid.

For travel, take a Griffin, they are free (There are 3 alone in Antonica) or ask someone for a run speed buff. Half of the classes have one.

As for finding shit ... You have a map. You have Waypoints (alt-w). You can ask any guard and they will point give you a wavepoint (right click them) and if your talking about finding something for a quest, read the journal. Unless your an idiot, it gives you hints about the location that a 5 year old can decipher.
