I once read that WOW has the terrific variety of landscape design seen so far in any game. Is that true? I am in the process of choosing what MMORPG to play. WOW is one of my favorites, but I do not know about landscapes. I know that there are many lies circling the internet, and I need to have proven information. Any kind of help is always welcomed and I will be very thankful.

You have not read the correct information. Landscape design in World of Warcraft is the best that was ever developed and designed. The details are just fantastic. Graphic designers did brilliant job with this and I hope that they will have many more successes as this one. In addition, the developers made landscapes almost like the real ones. You can find anything you want in them. I will never forget my amazement when I first saw WoW beautiful nature. It just cannot be described with words. You must see it for yourself. Otherwise you cannot believe the words. I suggest you to play the game and you will enjoy it.

The landscapes are nice but bliz likes to recycle a lot of graphics to the point of annoyance. Common Blizz!!!

i never noticed much til i flew. looking down at outland zones makes u see how great it is. even old world has some great views

I hate the outland landscapes. I will admit they are colorful and interesting, but I don't like being in space. WOTLK looks amazing, I am very excited for the return to stripped down, barren lands you could see on earth.
...well not necessarily on earth haha
