Some police offers are just plain a******s.

This girl I go to school with got pulled over doing 49 in a 35. Got a speeding ticket. He writes her up and lets her on her way.

Cop is still following behind the girl. A mile down the road theres a four way stop. She comes to a complete stop, then goes. Same cop pullers her over, and gives her a ticket for not stopping for 3 or more seconds.

She was under 18, so 2 tickets = no more license.

I get a strong feeling she was a smart ass.

No wait...

I'm sure of it.

Tailgating? Yeah, that's listed as an infraction on the back of the tickets.

I got pulled over once for that, and speeding and driving wrecklessly all at the same time. I knew I wasn't but it was 3am and you know what the cop was trolling for....

Luckily, I wasn't drinking that night and he let me go after I blew 0.0 without even a warning. Whatever... next time don't insult my intellgence with lame excuses to pull me over late at night.

I wasn't really tailgating tho, the traffic was really dense during rush hour, and I had a good 1/2-3/4 car length :\

I've had drinks and then later driven, certainly. Do I get blasted and drive? No. I've seen far too much stupidity come from that.

Michigan law is so tough that less than two drinks can push you over the legal limit. And I don't know about you, but I don't feel anything after two drinks. So you could literally have two beers, eat dinner, and get a DUI an hour later when driving home. Kinda ridiculous...

Of course, that cop was looking for someone coming back loaded from a bar or club. I did come from a club, but didn't drink (which is why I made that comment, it goes w/o saying that ordinarily one would've been drinking).

well you all can try my measure if you'd like..

drive nakid, and if you get pulled over, ask the cop if he wants to go out that particular night.

it can get you a date and/or out of a ticket

I hate that shit. They make up stories and try to trick you. Had you been drunk im sure they would have written you up for all of that whether it was true or not.

I had a cop pull me over for not completely stopping at a flashing red light at 2am in the middle of nowhere. He comes up to the car and i'm like "hello officer" and he's like "you smoking pot, son?"

He proceeded to try and play mind tricks on me, saying I told him "i was smoking pot" and that i told him "i was drunk" and shit like that. I was like "umm.. no." He's says "it's on tape, you want me to arrest you?". I finally say "Play this tape... show me what the hell you are talking about." He goes back to his car... talks to another officer that pulled up, and finally lets me go.

What the hell.

I had a friend get out of a ticket by asking when the last time the radar gun was calibrated. This was on a military base though. Tickets work kind of different there.

Wonder if it would work with a civilian cop or not.

I love my radar detector.

Shows you what direction the cop is, how far away, what band of radar or laser.

And it works about a mile behind you too. =)

Radar detectors don't work too well here, there's a good 30 X 30 mile area where it does nothing but beep and chirp.

you people think you know what you're talking about but you don't. the law on speed is stated that a person must go at a speed that is reasonable for the surroundings. meaning if it is 7 am and there are no cars in sight and the visibility is really good you could be able to get out of a ticket. the posted speed "limit" signs on normal roads are suggested speed limits, while if you look on the freeways you will see MAXIMUM SPEED 65 etc. for whatever state you are in. on a freeway if you are going just a litle over you can be given a ticket. however if you are driving reasonably on a road lets say 4 am and nobody is on the street if the judge believes that you were reasonable in the speed you were goign then you are fine cop can't do shit.

the guns must be checked and calibrated once in every 24 hour period.

We already established that the laws are different all over. Cops don't even need a radar gun here, let alone a calibrated one...

that's some pretty f****d up laws there, you guys should write your lame legislature and tell them to get off their asses and protect your rights ~.~ but most of the states have these generic laws ;p well except hick statez

Traffic laws here can be pretty messed up, it's the price we pay for having more cars per family than any other state. (3.8 if you're curious, but most middle income+ commonly have 5 or more. National average is around 1.8, so that's alot of cars lol)

Saying yes sir and no sir, or yes ma'am and no ma'am gets you a long way with police officers. I have had 4 tickets in a period of 9 yrs, and probably been pulled over around 71 times. From speeding, to following to close, to not using a blinker or tail lights ...etc

Last 2 times I got pulled over was for:
1) Following too close to a trucker that I let pass me (was riding his draft) and having my neons on an interstate. - NO TICKET

2) doing 79 in a 70, cop pulled me over, waited for a second cop, searched my vehicle and let me go. - NO TICKET

I have some funny ones that should have got me tickets.....but being polite gets you out of most of them

I took my neon off because i kept getting pulled over for being " Suspicious". Cops here are gay. I can blow past them doing 40mph over and nothing. I have neon lights on and I get shit for it.

All I have left is snakeyes and my license plate cover. It just dont look the same without the undercarrige kit and the rim lights.

It made my car look like it was worth more that it really is heh.

i've never f*****g got out of a ticket ever.. the best i've got for being nice and respectful is the cop will put a lower speed on the ticket to "reduce my fine"

once when i got hit though, this j*****s in this nasty molestation van just kept on driving down the road after he clipped me. this was at like 5:30 on a road with redlights every other block, needless to say, he wasen't getting away... after about a mile of me following him, he pulled over.

he was some d**k that barely spoke english. i'm like looking at my car and I was like, so are you going ot pay for my damage? he says no, it was your fault, are you paying for mine. i was like, hahah my fault ... right. so i called the police and as i'm dialing the number, he's like, wait we don't need to call the police... and i'm like well let's see some cash and we'll not call the police. he just walks away.

like 40 minutes later a police comes and i'm wearing my slacks and a button down shirt and a tie looking all spiffy. the copy pulls up and i go shake his hand and start talking to him and thanking him for getting there ina timely manner (lolz timely) so i tell him what happend.. while i'm talking to the officier, the other guy walks up and he's like, THAT BOY HIT ME **stuff in spanish* AND THEN HE IS SAYIN IT'S MY FAULT. The cop yelled, sir, i dont' want to talk to you right now go sit by your car and when i want you to talk i'll tell you too.

well then the cop was just talking to me about my car (he happened to have the same car i had color and everything and so we tralked about that for a few minutes). then the other guy's wife showed up and she came over and started yelling at the cop about it being my fault and shit. (bad move) the cop looks at her and says, ma'am, where you even here for the accident? did you witness it? she says no but ... the cop the tells her, ok then, stop wasteing my time and i don't want to hear you talking to me again.

so me and the officer finish up our convo about our cars. then he went to the other guy and immeadiatly started yelling at him for interrupting and not showing respect and shit .. then, it turned out, he had an expired registration for his car, he had no insurance on the car, it was in a private party's name but it had company information on the side, plus the guy's DL was expired. HAHAHAH he got hammered with like 4 tickets!

thx mr. cop!

lolz funny story
