First of all; if you can't get free porn, music, movies, or games without getting infected... you should pay for them and avoid this trouble.

Second to fix it; Get AV software. Depending on how nasty the keylogger is you may have to wipe your system and reinstall. I myself am always prepared for this option and never consider any of my home computer data critical. When it comes to work or professional data I am of course more concerned. Then again, I DON'T VISIT THOSE SITES AT WORK.

You should have:
1. Free Antivirus software:

Avast, AVG or ClamWin (doesn't take much resources).

But, since antiviruses often aren't efficient against keyloggers I recommend that you install (if you still don't have one) antispyware
2. Free Antispyware software:

Ad Aware 2007 + Spybot Search & Destroy (new version 1.5 has a resident scanner and work well with Ad Aware)
3. Firewall:

You could use standard Windows Firewall or install Zone Alarm (resource hog).

Anyway, you have to know some basics when use a firewall because you could block some important or insignificant process, but you could allow keylogger to be installed on your machine.

Keyloggers are often hidden in cracks, serials and keygens.

Advice: Whenever you download suspicious file (or any file) upload it to Virustotal.com and there you have opportunity to scan file with several AV scanners for free, including mainstream (NOD, Kaspersky), free (Avast, AVG,Clam, ...) or totally underground AV scanners which are more efficient than known antiviruses.

Also you should do HijackThis log and post it here or on any other PC expert forum.

The problem might be as serious as a rootkit, so I recommend in addition to an anti-virus you run an Anti-Rootkit program too. Panda has a real good free anti-rootkit. Download it here: LINK

Also, try deleting your system restore files and turning it off, alot of viruses like to hide there.

Whenever I visit any *ahem* dodgy sites, I switch from IE/Firefox to a little simple browser called OffByOne (google it). It stores no temp files, cookies, uses no javascript or activex. Once you close it theres 1 temp file created with your history that you can delete/erase.

It's a safe option when going to sites you think might be out to get you

I'd recommend using AVG, Ad-Aware, and Webroot Spy Sweeper.
