ok my computer has never run so slow before ever. recently i thought i had a possible virus because system performance sucked so bad. and also, i cant open the task manager (ctrl alt del = BROKEN)
i got norton, and i go ad-aware. both of them found things, got rid of them, and evertying was happy for a bit. but ctrl alt del still didnt work.
now today it's slow as f**k and i cant do much of anything without feeling like i'm running a pentium 90mhz with 8mb of ram.
i dont wanna format because it would take me ages to back all this shit up.
simpsons episodes, family guy, movies, mr show, etc etc etc.
wtf =/

ya that's kinda what i've been thinkin =/ i've been meaning to do it for a long time. maybe i'll just buy another hard drive and stick it all on there and then format reinstall and move it all back, but then the problem might come back.

ok it's not that bad.
that's just the stats of my first pentium computer.
i'm not back in 486 land yet, but man it runs slow.
i restarted and that helped a lot, but i shouldnt have to do that.

well if you remember the virii, you had, you could always go on mcfee.com Look up the virii and see if they did anything. Like editted you're registy or something. Could have remapped you're keys.
Also best way to get rid of virus is dos (protected) boot disk, scan from there.
I like mcfee. it's basically virus scanner. Unlike norton, which is huge memory pig. And they install or want to install all their other crap.
