reading guitar tabs sucks =(

you go to play them and they dont sound like the song and its p*****g me off
im trying to get the intro to john mayer: comfortable as seen on olga.net but it isnt sounding right at all =\
yes im capo`d at three and my guitar is in tune =p
any other places to find tabs that would actually have this song?
i really like guitar pro and their ability to find tabs that play in guitar pro (will show the tab and play it in midi format and stuff) but they have very few songs on there when i go to look for one i want .. (go figure people dont want to spend forever getting a song tabbed correctly in that program) ..

i never used tab so i cant help ya out, unless ya want to explain it to me then i can translate tab into sheet music

i uh sort of know how to read music in order to play piano (somewhat)
the only song i know how to play on the piano is a CPE bach song, solfeggietto

but i dont know where each note would be on the guitar or if you could even take sheet music and play it on the guitar in a certain specific way, i mean, there are many ways of making the same note on a guitar but only one on the piano ..

it doesnt sound right though and i dont know what it would sound like if it was actually played as its written (which is another reason guitar pro is teh own)
Well, if you think tablatures are going to teach you how to play the song, you haf been mistaken.
You need to actually listen to the song to find the exact pitch/length of the bends, hammers on/off, sweet picking, etc.. because sometimes it's just too intricate to translate the tablature, and to translate into tablature.
That's why some of the tabs you find don't sound quite like the actual songs.
Tip...just find a good quality version of the song you want to learn, read the tablatures to find the basic concept, and play along.
If you get good at it you can read the tabs and play along nearly in sync with the song.
When you're reading the tablature, and you think you've come to a flaw in the tablature, rewind and repeat that part of the song until you can fill in the gaps.

heh im trying to .. im mainly looking for other tab websites to check the validiy of this tab, but it seems like olga has quite the monopoly

seriously, the only way to do it is to listen to the recordings, maybe use tab/sheet music as a reference, and transcribe it yourself.
im running into the same issues with trying to learn jazz on the piano. f*****g chord symbol is a C7, but their playing a C7(-9,+13) or some shit.

always...always learn to read tabs..it'll save your bum in the long run
I could tab that song out for you, but instead I'll find a perfect tab, I know there's one out there... be back in a few.. oh and, guitar tabs are sweet, but not everyone makes great tabs =P
