It's vicious!
I had a few of these nah and I would put dead leaves aorund them, I don't know about the fish water I think it would depend on the chlorine levels. They didn't seem to fussy to me when I had them and I can kill any plant.

Well.. the reason I am asking is because as it is I use fish water to water my plants because of the basic principles behind the nitrogen cycle and why a planted tank is healthier than a non planted one.. the plants consume the ammonia the fish excrete then break it down into nitrites. Bacteria in the water convert the nitrites down into nitrates which are basically inert. Chlorine isn't an issue because the water in the tank is treated and dechlorinated before it even goes in.
Just wondering how different flytrap needs are in comparison to other non carnivorous plants.

that's so mean
they're flytraps for a reason..they have adapted over millions of years to grab stuff and digest it
don't be mean and take it's food from it by watering it..
it's like a caged lion with nothing to hunt and feeding it dog food

I used to feed mine a little raw hamburger. Not much. About the size of an eraser. Then just use something like a Qtip to tickle the hairs on the outside of the trap and make it close.

Oh well .. bugs don't live long enough for the plant to ever trap anything in my apartment I have 3 prowling cats that make short work of any animal smaller than them that's stupid enough to come in my apartment.
My question is : would it work?

how much did you pay for it? I'd wager it's going to cost you money to find out, but having zero exp in this, it's all pure theory, which in your case is very logical. i'd say give it a whirl, but how often would you do that? is this a perm solution or a temp?

Oh but it gets better!
Did you know many plants release chemicals into the soil for the sole purpose of communicating with other plants?
For instance: "Leaf-devouring parasites INC", "water near me" and "I am going to kill you"
no shit!

Seriously? I think I'll stop eating plants because it would be cruel to kill them. I'll still eat animals because they make funny screams when they're slaughtered!

Precisely. He wouldn't have given us sharp teeth intended for tearing either. We would have flat, crushing teeth

Release your plant out into the wild, let it run free across the open plains again! its so cruel to keep it in captivity.

Animals also have sharp teeth. If it were up to them, they'd eat us all day long, but we're smarter so we get to eat them all day long.
