As most have stated it really comes down to more of a personal preference.
To me, the Wii is much more of a "party" console, meaning that the majority of the games require that you physically have people there to play with you.
I may be biased since I actually own an XBox 360 but please note that after being a fan of the Playstation 1 & 2 (never owned an original XBox), I chose the XBox 360 over the PS3. As both consoles seem to have pretty much the same game library, with the exception of a few exclusives, it all came down to the online component.
From reading articles on the internet, it really sounded like the PS3 online component was really lacking in comparison to the XBox 360. Again, I may be biased having not seen the online component of the PS3. So, in the end, the decision is yours. Do some research online and pick what fits your purpose.

and what about all the problems that x360 have?
u move it a bit, there goes the game. i work at blockbuster and i have seen way to many games come back with the ring of death, that makes the game unplayable

RRoD was one of the things I was most afraid of when buying the 360 but I've had it for 7 months now and have had no problems.

Xbox 360 have an awesome live system, and if you actually use it properly, you can have some mad fun. Like making clans and having clan matches. Its the best, especially back in the day of Gears of War, that was a tight game for clan matches. Ive had my xbox since release and it hasn't failed me yet, but yes, many many xbox's have had soldering issues which results in the 'RROD' but if you get that issue, MS will pay for cost of repairing, but yeh, disk trays can s***w up on rare occasion with some xbox's. Otherwise its a kick ass console and i'd definitely buy it over a PS3 and Wii. Although Wii is real fun to play with friends. Sick console aswell.

it totaly depends. if you can be botherd to get out of your chair (unlike me) get a wii, there very fun. but if not then my vote would be the Xbox due to the number of shooter games (if you like that sort of thing)

I have all 3.
PS3: The good:Has extreemly good graphics and lots of updates you can buy games online for it sometimes they have free games but most are cheap to purches. The graphics are so good and it has a superior cooling system to the 360.
The bad: Hardly any good games that are just for the ps3 are coming out at this moment in time but that doesn't mean nothing will come out in the future.
Xbox 360: The good: The 360 has a lot of really good rpg games for example Blue Dragon, Kameo and some others I can't think of at this moment in time. It's graphics are really nice and clean, it looks great on a HDTV. But they have a lot more shootem ups which I'm not too keen on but you maybe.
The bad: The old systems get the ring of death the cooling system isn't too good but the Microsoft warente is 3 years because of this.
WII: The good: There are a lot of really old school games to download and they are constantly adding to the store. There are a lot of really neet RPG and simulation games for the WII this is by far my favorite system but my husband perfers his 360. It also runs the old game cube games on it. The bad: The controller is annoying to beat hell and the wires keep getting tangled. You can however use old style controllers for a lot of games (N64, Game cube etc).

imo get a 360.. and buy gears of war.. best shooter game you will ever play and gears of war 2 is comin out fall of 08 
o and 360 is like a better verison of ps3.. not graphics but games.. resident evil 5 DMC4 ff13... ps3 top games now for 360 also we get star ocean 4 ps3 doesnt...

I own all three, and all three are super duper great fun. Neither of them suck. To each their own, and all of them have killer exclusive titles not available anywhere else.
Wii - Large selection of titles (not so much as 360 but large enough to bankrupt you) no fee for online play yet but rumors going around that soon all that may change, if your budget is tight like me get a Wii.
360 - Gigantic arsenal of titles to choose amongst from, not to mention this is the 2nd cheapest console to purchase since it's been out the longest, only con I have about the 360 and I know I'm not alone is the online fees (c'mon billy boy you're rich enough).
PS3 - Sony titles are getting bigger and better lightning fast, their is no fee for online play which is a huge plus (let alone the main reason why I purchased one), so if you plan on buying a ps3 try and avoid the 40gb version as that is the only one that doesn't suppert backwards compatibility features.
So that sums it all up, the cheapest is the wii which is like $199 in stores and even less than that if you buy it used on ebay or a place like that, the new colored ones will be out this christmas. The 360 is the 2nd cheapest and ps3 went from being the biggest 07 ripoff to the now nearly biggest steal of 08.

Wii is a lot of fun and will keep you busy for months.
Xbox 360 has an amazing line of games
Ps3 i would definatly put off to get until Final Fantasy XIII and some other games come out for it. Most of the games that are for Ps3 are also on Xbox 360

I went with the 360, was always a playstation fan but with all the awesome games coming out when I wanted a new system, I had to go with the 360.. and I love my 360

Thats the question i want an answer for a very long time  , most of my mates have Xbox 360, and telling me to get it.. Looking at that its second best as PS3 is first.. I would go for 360 as i can play with ma mates.. Because not alot of people that i know have PS3.

I'd either go for a PS3 or Xbox 360. I have all three(well two now, sold the wii). At the start wii is nice, but it gets boring after a while and I stopped playing. But the Xbox 360 and PS3 have better games in my opinion.

I think that XBOX is better... Well we all know sad truth... The is a lot of piracy and my country is no different. So i'd choose XBOX because there are games to download for it.
