all the wolves in the game have red bodies, black feet, yellow heads and a white tail.. someone said download directx 9 so i did.. no good
someone said update your vid card drivers so i did.. no good
someone also said to delete certain texture files and repatch them but he didn't know which texture files.. anyone know so i can try and finally fix this problem?

Yep, deleting all the .txc files in your everquest directory should fix it.

.txc = texture cache files ..
problem is with how the texture cache was read off your hard drive (probably from a hardware update or some change to EQ)
deleting them fixes this problem by creating new texture cache files instead of reading the old ones incorrectly
...
at least i think ^_^
