So, I bid on this DSS unlooper on ebay. Then I checked his rating. ya, i did that backwards i know.
Anyway, if I use my visa through paypal, and he scams me, i can just charge it back through paypal? or how does that work.

got to make a complaint with ebay first, wait until they finish their investigation (usually takes 7-10 days), then dispute with paypal.

If you get scammed then call your CC company and charge it back that way. Tell them that you did not recieve the service or item that was promised to you and they will automaticaly reverse the charge on top of chargeing paypal a chargeback fee. At at that point it is then up to paypal to prove that your service/product was delivered before they can get their money from you. That is the great thing about CC's is that you have all the rights when it comes to disputes. Your CC company puts the burden of proof on the merchant if there is aproblem. Not you.

True, nobody is safe nowadays really. Its not hard to make your own tho, and there are nice schematics and parts lists out there if you ever need to get another one.
Also, I'd stick with a small community if you are going to rely on a site for software. The large ones get targeted by DTV fairly often and their fixes don't last as long.
