Ok so my parents computer is f****d up.
I formatted it six months ago, and they had spyware within 2 days. I told them what NOT to click on... but it still happened.
So i formatted again.
So Now their internet connection is uber clogged.
Nothing is running, No applications at all. And i ctrl alt del and look at the network utilization and it's constantly between 20-30%
I ran ad aware and it found a bunch of crap but i deleted it all and the connection is still way clogged.
wtfzors.

Giant software has a adware/spyware program that owns IMO... MS bought them and is putting it up on their site under their name soon. Is good though really, did a better job than Adaware or Spybot

Usually 90% of that can be avoided if you don't use IE. There are some things that get past Firefox and Opera, but not much.

Had the same problem and a friend walked me through it. Now I know how to fix it. Paco tried but my email was f****d up to so I had to call someone over. So yes, I do know how to fix this problem.

also: all they have is firefox i believe. I uninstalled IE and installed firefox the last time i formatted...
i'm constantly amazed by their ability to s***w stuff up.
I went to iamnotageek.com and it talked about finding regkeys that are malicious as well as programs in MSconfig that should be disabled etc...
but i didnt have time to go through every single process... also their internet was so slow that it was really frustrating..
