I have a logitech one and I like it a lot. For gaming though I wish I had a trackball still.

I just bought a Microsoft Optical Mouse Blue. It's VERY smooth. Much better than my Logitech Cordless that quit working.

i got the complex microsoft optical Intellimouse or something like that one, with all the grip contours, loving it, takes a month or two till renew batteries. I bought it for 60 bucks, i thought it would be a sensible thing, seeing as i spend a lot of time on the computer.

What surface to people use for them? I use a blank sheet of white paper. I find the cursor gets a mind of its own at times on anything else.

I bought an MS optical wheel mouse at Best Buy about two months ago for 30 bucks. And they gave me a form to mail in for a 22 dollar rebate Smile

I just use mine on my wooden desk, no pad or paper under it...works fine <shrug>

ive had a microsoft intellimouse for a few years and it still works great. i use it on my desk for regular use and a small mirrir when i need it to be very accurate. mine is not cordless though. the only downside i see to them is sometimes they tend to throw the cursor out of view like i scrolled. mine may be just getting old though.

as for trackballs i could never get used to them for gameing unless i started playing freespace again. thats the only game i could use it on because you have to scroll to much with a regular mouse.

I know this is gonna sound silly, but I had a friend addicted to Quake living in my house for a year. He had some kind of South African optical mouse, with the matching mouse pad. You could blow at it, and it would move. You could only buy it online, but it kicked ass, I just can't remember what it was called.

My intellimouse works pretty well. I'd sort of like it to be a little more precise with tiny movements, but I've never had the problems some people complain about where it launches the cursor somewhere weird.

My biggest objection to it (and my previous intellimouse) is the scroll wheel gets very uneven and hard to turn after awhile so you end up pressing it sometimes when you're trying to turn it, and there's no way to clean it. And also the side button on the left is too easy to press accidentally. And every once in awhile the intelliscroll or whatever you call the feature where you click the middle button and just moving the mouse scrolls everything, goes berserk and the whole page starts vibrating up and down and incredible speed, or whatever the equivalent behaviour in a game is, which can be disconcerting.

I'm thinking of trying the Logitech MX500 for my next one, or maybe the MX700 although I'm a little leery of cordless, especially for games.

That's optical MICE.

When you work in a computer store for a few years you grow tired of that mistake.

GET THE MX700, you will not be upset. It's rated as one of the best (if not the best) wireless mouse for gaming.

I love my MX700 and don't know what i was doing using a plain old 4 year old intellimouse before i got it. This is one sweet f*****g mouse.
