About 27 years ago there was this anime series on tv but i can't remember for the life of me the name..
I remember that it was a Battleship(like wwII) in space and it had some badass old crochy SeaCaptain dood running the show..white beard..pipe and an eye patch maybe?
this ring any bells for anyone?

I keep trying to find out about one on TV around that same time period....two sisters....one could turn into a white snake, the other could turn into a white fish...still have no idea what it is

Sounds like several different ones, actually...
Robotech had a battleship type ship in space...
Harlock had a nice space ship...but no white beard.

paco thats it for sure!! but....that looks really new..it was when i was like 6years old hence 27 years ago... The Ship on the right looks like it

my pic was fan art from their site, I believe, so it was "updated"
and the dvds, i think you can get for 90 at the most..just can't recall where i saw em for that price..i wouldn't mind having the set
that's totally oldschool anime right there as far as stuff being in america at the time of it's release in the mid/late 70s. i used to watch it durning the summers when i was living at cape cod. one of the only markets that had it.
*that* is where it all began for me and my little anime cravings
