There was a n**d-fest of WoW topics in the kitchen at work one day. 5 or so guys all getting excited about fireballs and stuff. Man, I love the game but I just can't take a guy seriously when he says:

There's a big difference between enjoying, say, gardening at home in your private time and going out in public and talking about gardening non-stop.

No one mentioned talking about it non-stop, you are saying you're not supposed to talk about it in public. The strangers at the store don't know whether you talk about it all the time, and chances are they aren't listening to what you're talking about anyway. I'm not saying everyone that plays EQ should act like an obsessed geek all the time, but limiting what you talk about in public in hopes of making strangers think you are too cool to engage in your hobbies seems pretty silly to me.
