Hello, I have a general strategy question about colony distribution in OG. I was wondering if there are any strategies that I should keep in mind when choosing where to colonize. Should I keep it tight and colonize close-by planets, or should I spread out as far as I can to have access to new regions and potential enemies to raid? I'm mostly looking for input form more experienced players than me, mostly.

One general approach that's worked well for me is to first try colonizing near your ally's territory. Only then try and build a chain of colonies between those two, so you can move resources as needed. Also, although you should have planets relatively close by to help against attacks, you should never have them so close to be easy targets for secondary attacks from the same attacker.
