I saw other major cities doing this and was jealous.

this cant be any fast, for free. crazy.
does the bandwidth suck or something?
Do they make routers that connect to this?

Well, the site took a while to load so that's not a good sign.
Hopefully it will spread and maybe put DSL and cable internet at a much lower rate or even do away with it.

you dont need a special router, any wireless card can connect
there's plans to do this in a bunch of other places too.. it'll probably be in most larger cities in less than 5 years (maybe 10 at the most)

I mean are there routers for this. because theres certain things like my ReplayTV and VOIP phone that would need to be plugged into a router as they have their own rj45 NIC already

If any 802.11a/b/g can connect to this 'net' then you could use rj45 from your replayTV to a linksys wireless gateway or they make rj45 to wireless converters that would let you access the net from your replay TV directly.
It all boils down to how they design the network.....
