Did you get a little install disc that you had to run from your computer? You're supposed to run it from all the machines. It basically self-sets up your router for you and configures all the protocals on your machine.

When boths machines are plugged in do they both have valid IP addresses? Since its a linksys router it should be something like 192.168.0.x and 192.168.0.x on both machines with a gateway of 192.168.0.1 or 1.1 can't recall off the top of my head. If they are, then try from to ping each of them from each other, so PC 1 pings PC 2 and see if it works, then getting PC1 to ping its default gateway (this can be found from ipcofig /all done via a DOS prompt), if PC1 can ping the gateway,. then do the same with PC2 and record the results. If both machines can ping each other and the gateway, then try pinging 198.133.219.25 (resolves to www.cisco.com) ... if its successful on both machines then try pinging www.yahoo.com from both machines, if 1 work and the other fails, you have DNS issues. If it does work, you're good to go. I'd first verify IP config on both machines before anything else.

you will need to follow these instructions, please remove the quotes from any of the following commands.
"start>choose run>in the run filed type "cmd" click ok. A dos window should open, in the DOS window, type "ping <ip address>" remove the greater than and less than signs and replace with the proper IP address. Post the results so I can help you. And please next time, please post more then "how the f**k do I do that?" because it doesn't tell me what part of what I said you didn't understand.
