I was looking for lyrics for a song last night, and like half of the lyrics pages on google, are bogus, and are filled with adware, so of course I clicked on one of those. Now when I open up Internet Explorer it takes me to some bogus search engine as my starting home page, and when I try to change the home page to something else, it just always goes back to the bogus shit.
Whenever I try to close it, I get bombarded with pop ups, and when I try to close the pop ups, more pop ups come up. I'm using Firefox right now, so i'm not having the problem, but I always get bittorrent errors, and I can't stream videos on Firefox, so I need internet explorer atleast for that.
I've ran adaware, and have removed everything (though everytime I scan still, there is still atleast 15+ critical objects that it finds.) i've ran a free antivirus program, because I have no money to buy a real one, and it found nothing, I also tried deleting my cookies, but the problem still persists. Any idea wtf is going on?

please reread the bolded statement
I was using Firefox to stream a video on gamespot, and it wouldn't let me, and whenever I try to use bittorrent with Firefox, I get an error. I don't know if there is some setting to change this, but it seems that I have to use IE explorer for atleast those 2

I can't say what your problem is with Firefox and torrents, mine works grandly. In fact everything works just perfect... except that damn picture puzzle thing last night

Oh boy. If you downloaded and/or installed anything, you're in for a bumpy ride. Just by clicking on an ad can't do much unless there's an exploit they used. We need more info, but meanwhile you can go into IE and go to Tools -> Manage Add-ons... and find things that look bad. Search for those files, delete them, and hope for the best.

That's one way (manage add ons) but also go to Advanced and then remove the check for Enable 3rd Party Browser Extensions, close the browser and reopen. This helps lots too

Alright, thanks for the help all. I'll mess around with the tools in Firefox too, to see if I can get streaming to work. I always hear sound, but the picture never shows up. If I can get that to work, I doubt i'll ever use IE explorer.
The only lyrics site I can seem to trust is lyrics.com, and they didn't have Skindred lyrics, so I had to search on google
btw, the starting homepage, that starts all of the pop ups is labeled as "About:blank" which is what I usually had it set on, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

I would suggest going to microsoft.com and downloading the new beta version of their antispyware program. It has realtime protection and is constantly watching what's going on and kills stuff even before it can install itself. I would say it owns any other anti-spyware stuff hands down.

here:
http://forums.spywareinfo.com
Download Hijackthis , which I believe can be found in the very first FAQ on that link. Then read the FAQ completely and follow all the steps.
Then run your spyhunter, spysweeper, spybot programs to clean up the remaining mess.
Thanks to Isriam for the link.
