The name remains but the service changes. I'm not paying to download songs when there's 40 other places I can go and get it for free.

If they were to host the files, assure dl times, Have full albums from ALL the labels artists (not just the crappy top 10), allow you to mix and match songs if you want, and have cd covers, extrass..etc, all for a COMPETATIVE price, it might be worth it.
I seriously doubt they will do that (especially the competative price part).

if they had huge lists of songs and it was cheap id use it.
i liked the old napster much much more than any other service i have used for music.
Like if it was 14.95 a month for unlimeted downloads and i could get some of the music i like that happens to more rare and not easyly found with other programs . i think id pay for it.

I agree, in it's prime Napster was the best. It's the only service I've ever been able to download an entire album from in about 20 minutes. There's always a ton of hunt-and-chase and disconnects going on with all the new ones.

I really doubt you are going to get the music you want tho.
What record company is going to cut rate sell their music unless that music really sucks, or, the artist wants to make a public statement about how they support free mp3's, etc.
I mean, goto mp3.com... tons of free mp3's to DL... Why don't people ? It sucks

all depeneds on how meny people they can get to pay 14.95 or whatever fee they charge.
can anyone explain to me why napster couldn't just move to some third world country and not have to deal with US corywrite laws ? Kinda like how the internet casinos work.

Maybe because not everyone wants to move to a third world country so their gimped p2p file sharing program can keep going.

Well napster has the potential to make you very very rich. not to mention you dont even really need to be there . you could hire people to run it.
