multi alarm fleet cannot approach

What does this message mean? I got this in OG when I tried to spy on a guy I know, and I couldn't do it. Someone told me this has to do with IP numbers, and I should just turn off the IP check, but then someone else told me I could get banned for doing this! WTF? I didn't do anything wrong, it just popped out. What am I supposed to do now?

Basically, the message means you and the other guy are both accessing the same OG universe from computers with a shared IP, or even from the same computer. Most wiseasses try to do this, create multiple accounts and then share resources between themselves, etc, but that's why the IP check is there. If you're not really doing this, then there's a minor tech problem, just contact an admin and he'll sort it out. On the other hand, if you ARE really doing this, you'll eventually get banned.
