Your first 2 facts are truth. Your 2nd two are incorrect unless your either 1) lazy 2) a peice of shit 3) stupid or 4) a newb.
You can buy a lith ion for about 25-40 bucks and install it your self once it runs out after no less than 2 years unless you use it 24/7. And unless you smash it with a hammer, all that happens is it gets scratched... even when droped which can be fixed with some brasso. Or if your lazy you can buy a case like I did and it will never get scratched + it looks like a palm piolt so you dont have to worry about some dong beating your ass to steal it from you.
And if your already inside putting a new battery in, you can go ahead and mod your ipod to look neat. Acetate which is this see through plastic paper stuff works great to cover the glass protecting the lcd display. Some dude I know covered his with red to match the button lights... it looks rad. If only you could change the color of the button lights without having to risk f*****g over your ipod trying to soder them in.

There are plastic clips that are attached to the top plastic part that clip onto the metal back part. If you get a credit card or something that wont scratch the plastic/metal its easy to get it off. If not you can just get one of thoes mini s***w drivers that are used for glasses and watches.

just bought an iriver hp120 cause it seems better than ipod for windows pcs and all the reviews on ign and the like said it was good... plus 100 bucks cheaper on amazon cant go wrong =/
