When you are attacked any your ships are destroyed they leave a debris field. For ever 100,000 debris there is 1% chance for a "Moon Shot"

YOUR ships dont have to be destroyed, the attackers can be, but have to be at your planet.

i have 3 moons myself atm with jumpgates.
best way getting a moon:
1667 Light Fighters - (20% Moonchance - Highest) Moonshot Trade
Make 1667 Light Fighters, either go on ogame boards or alliance, friends etc., find a person willing to moonshot trade with you. make you you have good enough defence to kill it. once the attacks been done. you have created big enough debri field to create a moon. on my old account it took 10 tried and no moon
last week just got one on first try

remember to have 100 recylers to collect your own debri field.
about 1m metal and 500k crystal. not sure forgot
