You might want to buy a modchip insted of flasing the bios if you still plan to play on xbox live. SmartXX Xenium and Xecuter3, are the top 3 in the market right now, and all can come with no sodder addapters.

lol .. i hope you know what im loling
anyway, the easiest one to use id have to say is the xenium ice (after me and my friend installing xenium ice and X3s)
but other than that definitely if you're going to buy one id say xenium ice or X3
also there *IS* an adaptor for xbox 1.6 out now .. works well .. used it with the X3

Actually, I prefer to softmod mine. I'm not going to be installing an additional hard drive, or changing the cd-rom drive, I just want to use it for XBMC. Hell, I don't even have any intentions on relaly owning any games, since I probalby won't have time to play them much.
I'm moving out in a few weeks, and I won't have my computer next to my television anymore. Therefore, I won't have an easy way to watch all the movies and shit I download. That's what I wanted my XBMC to do, and it does it well. I'm amazed at how cool this program is, especially with some added Python scripts.

SMB shares are great too. I just browse through the workgroup one, and watch everything right off my PC HDD, saves space for all the roms/games. =P

Yeah, that's what I do. That way I don't have to FTP or Burn anything, I just put my BT and Music folder on sharing and voila! I kind of wish they would refine their music player, to something similar to WMP9+. Or an easy way to enqueue files into a Now Playing playlist or something.

Yeah, playing music is a pita, but I usually have playlists already made for cds, so I can just do that. Anything mixed/random sucks tho, make one in winamp.
