it's not like that. water (regen mana) is plentiful and while mages do summon them, most casters carry spares around with them.

I carry 100 milk + about 20-40 melon juice on me at all times. I almost never remember to ask the mages for water anyway  Unless of course they are nice and offer me it.

yeah seriously, this game is different from EQ. Food is not something you use to keep your screen from spam.
Food and drink is basically like a CH for mana and hp. You click one, and it heals x amount of mana/hp over y amount of time...
and noobs can easily get 300 hp/mana over 20 seconds or something, I can't remember the exact amount.
