don't have anyone directly that you can send things to. most of my close friends in the guild know that my wife is currently deployed overseas. she's stationed in mosul, iraq. she has been there since september 30th.
she recently has been named the spokesperson for her section over there. she is listed as the point of contact for mailing things to anyone in that section. (or herself) should any of you want to send something but don't have a specific person to send to. here ya go. you can search by last name, Boehmer April is the one.
she loves crossword puzzles, word searches, magazines, and then pretty much anything thats small and snackable. (either eat as is or add water).
thanks,
allan

yes celestra, sorry. i screwed that one up. anyhow:
http://www.anysoldier.com/WhereToSend/
as for the rest of you pigs. i guess i shoulda figured you'd take something serious like a soldier and what they are doing over in iraq for a joke.
i agree that there are many things to laugh, joke, and make fun of. but i sure as f**k don't think soldiers serving in iraq is one of them. anyone who does can move the f**k to some other country. i'm not saying our being there is right or wrong. but thats not for the soldiers to decide.
so until you realize how much they do for this country while making less than somebody working fulltime at mcdonalds. shut the f**k up.

Hey assassin,
I'm pretty sure they didn't mean to belittle your wife and the sacrifices your family is making. Some people in this thread are or were dedicated soldiers themselves if I recall correctly.
Hope your wife gets some nice stuff and comes home safe =)
*edit because I'm braindead

i'm aware of that celestra and i thank you as a husband to a soldier serving over there. i pointed it out in my guild thread but i didn't mention it here yet.
when i look back at the 4 years i servered, i was never deployed. but one of the most memorable experiences i had was after a long day at work and hitting the grocery store on the way home. i was walking down some aisle and as i passed an older couple (maybe late 50's early 60's) they said 'thank you'. i looked up and then around to see who they were talking to. didn't see anyone else. they were staring at me and repeated it again. i was dumbfounded. totally speachless.
they recognized this and explained that they were thanking me for serving our country. they didn't give me anything. they didn't offer me anything. but hearing that from a total stranger in the middle of a grocery store for that one moment in time made me realize that there are people who actually care about soldiers and what they do.
think about it. i'm not asking anyone to go out of their way to send my wife anything. or any soldier if they want. i'm not even asking them to mail a card. what i am asking is that you simply take the time and actually look at whats around you. for 1 minute today, don't take what you have for granted. the freedom. the radio blaring. your PS2. your job. the house you live in. or the even the computer you are reading this on right now.
cuz like it or not, all of that has been made possible to you in this country stems from what our military has done.

It helps to get anything over there. Anything to take your mind off where you are and whats going on. Best of luck to your wife over there.

if it would live id send her a small lucky bamboo clipping *from my orig plant* must be pretty high on the UGH factor there, a little life in a place of death and a little greenery in a dismal place would help to brighten spirits.
ill work on figuring out a way to ship sans killing one, if i can wrap my head around it perhaps we on rp can make it happen?
