would totally destroy high lvl characters, we dont get gold from killing blues anymore so losing weapons and not being able to kill white mobs for gold = us screwed, not to mention not having a good weapon at 30 pretty much screws you anyway
I think they might do what you say but do it like giving you gold per lvl, like a lvl 30 would recieve 1-1.5 mil gold or something to be fairer.

Well since most high level got their level by buying much better equipment thanks to cheats...

because alot of high lvls didnt get better gear due to cheats and screwing us all over would be wicked gay, its like if EQ wiped today because of the cash dupes. Sure some people got illegitimate crap but most didnt.

I know this but when you have no way to find out who did what and how....
We talk about the game's future here and the job of these guys and their work. I hope not but it would'nt surprise me

there will be dupes again and the games future depends on how good they are at tracking down and banning these people, games always have dupes wiping the servers is never a viable answer.
