I bought a Western Digital 160gig when they were the biggest drives around, and it died on me after a few months use. The file index kept getting corrupt. I don't know if that's a windows/ide controler driver issue though. How is the stability of the new bigger hard drives?
I already have two 110gig SATA drives in a Raid configuration, for a total of 220gb, but it's pretty close to full right now. I'm thinking of adding a second(and maybe third) 250+ hard drive, but I'm worried about how long they will last.

Same thing happened to me with the same model. I had mine for about 2 weeks before it took a dump. Newegg took it back and sent me another one though, and I havent had any problems with it since. Been over a year and a half.

I've been running various size Western Digi's since I start building boxes back in 2001 and have never had an issue. They have some really cool diag tools as well if you think the drive has taken a shit or is going to die...
