My boss called me into his office today to discuss an email I sent out a few days ago. Apparantely the spelling was uncharacteristically bad and they wanted to know if I was having "problems we need to discuss" (I'm guessing they meant a drug or drinking problem. "Marco, are you getting enough sleep?" Apparantely my boss states my typos have been increasingly more visible, I'm usually considered to have good writing skills in general.
I was a bit surprised, so I asked to see this email. I was stunned.... I am not s******g you, what I wrote was
".... mell him mo call me sometime and we can cet up a tume to have lunch"
I found that I am misspelling a lot of very common English words now because of the constant replacing english characters for cyrillic ones. in russian the letters t, n, p, s and i are replaced by m, H, n, c and u among many others, these are just the most common.
My handwriting is even worse but it's not something that many people see, thank god. 
My brain can't function at these levels.. I'm cracking here

Just need to be more careful, I guess... I was never in the habit of using spell checkers because spell checkers usually choke on IT terminology and because it's a b***h to set up and update in Lotus Notes so I gave up trying. Sounds like it's time to start using it again

if ya do russian two hours a day do one english (real english or even bussiness english).

Ya I hear you.. the thing is Russian's f*****g hard. I'm sorry Sorn but your people are f****d up. No one in their right mind would have invented a language so brutal if they had an ounce of human compassion. The only reason I'm doing so well in the class is because I'm practicing constantly, it has its drawbacks tho.

 yes ukrainian and russian are very odd and difficult to learn if not an influance in your life growing up... and even then its still ARG! at times.
the symbols for sounds and a different alphabet is what really twists it up in your head, at least other languages use a normal/semi normal alphabet.
but i will say... i love the sounds when i am speaking with my baba i love listening and mimicing her accent the r's and *hacking loogy* sounds still own me though.
this really should be easier for me considering my last name ends with 'iuk' (loogy hawkin sound).
but its like my hubby says, if you dont keep up with your *base language* while learning another its easy to 'forget the simple things'.
while he was learning chek an not upkeeping his french it showed when he would be having a discussion with one of his family members.
like i said, balance. for every two hours a day russian, do an hour *proper* english.
