If you're willing to put in the effort, BitTorrent can yield the best results. It took me a few days to find a decent torrent, but I got like 10 Rolling Stones albums in 1 download from BT, and the transfer rate was decent.

WinMX works you just have to get the patch for it.
Personally I think Azureus is teh shizzle for bit torrent.
I am leary of using non torrents now, however.

edonkey is pretty good, but it installs a bunch of spyware. My version expired and I dont really want to go through the hassle of cleaning my machine again. But, if you have the patience and know how, once the spyware is gone, the proggy is pretty good.

Use a torrent program. Stay away from P2P programs per se. People tend to pass on infected files, knowingly or not. Best bet is to find a private torrent tracker and make some friends, get an invite and go from tehre. Its a little extra work, you have to give what you take, but in return, you get a great community, large selection to work with and almost guaranteed not to end up with infected/half-assed programs, rips, etc.
