Not for nothing and don't take this as an insult because it's not meant to be. But if you have had that many problems just minding your own business I will go out on a limb and say you have had these problems because the way you carry yourself. Maybe you just look nervous or something. People that gang up on people like that prey on the weak.
It does suck that you can't walk down the road without issues. I know I have had issues like that in my younger days. Mostly blacks by the numbers around here will mouth off to people. It doesn't matter if you are minding your own business or with your wife and kids. People just get brave in numbers and try and out do one another with assaults and conflict.
You could get even but personaly I would just hold it all in and let it rumble in your mind for however long it takes you to find the next group or person that tries something and then unleash the beast. One man can easily stomp the shit out of four or five men combining anger, adrenaline and the element of surprise. Remember. You are in the right once someone makes an aggressive move on you. At that point it doesn't matter how bad you hurt them you will not be in any trouble so let it all hang out.
Walk with your chin up and balls swinging and you will be fine!

You know you are going to get hit everytime you pass them why not, next time you see them, charge in and throw a few hits. Eventually you have to hurt one or 2 of them before getting beat down more, and sooner or later you might earn some respect from them and be able to pass by safely or talk to them and join their cool "gang".

My personal Goal would be to Follow one home and Beat the f**k outa him at his Front door with a Baseball Bat, you know...break a leg or arm. The Idea being the everytime they f**k with you, one of them is going to the hospital. Kinda makes that Mob mentality go away cuze they all end up thinking they are gonna be next.
IMO even if your not that way you have a Basic Human Right to defend yourself.....gotta draw the line somewhere.

I've never seen shit like this happen in the US. Maybe bait is right. Theres a lot of crazy f*****s here and its kinda risky to just start picking fights with people for no reason. A knife would be the best idea, if you know Akido, you'll obviously know how to get behind someone fast enough to pull a knife to a throat, do that, and the others will back off. Speaking from experience here, if you make a public show of one of them in a weak situation, they WILL get scared.
I pulled a knife to a guy's throat in class once, I've not had trouble with bullies scince.

i've always carried a knife, but never once thought of actually using it.
It's more of a tool, bc its a pocket knife, than any sort of defensive weapon
once i was subject to mild bulleying, but i was keen to socializing with tougher people, and after that i never had problems.
Occasionally we all have the urge to f**k someone else up, but it's intensified by how well off your are.
someone with nothing to loose, i mean absolutely nothing, will not hesistate to beat the shit out of someone, especially if he's guaranteed to win due to a group activity situation.
which may be why people in the US aren't getting in fights all the time, but for someone who's got lots going for them. fights are never glorious, and if they are seen that way, then someone lost before the fight.

Woa, you study Aikido. My opinion of you just went up 90%. You won't have to affect all 8 people. A competent, confident attitude against the largest of the 8 will be enough.
I've been in similar situations. You just have to subdue, control or humiliate the largest of the pack and the other bow down like baby cows at the crack of a gunshot.

I've never gotten beat up. I'm a big m**********r so that helps a tad.
Coincidientily i've studied aikido and jiu jitsu for 4 years (black belted in both if my knee didn't get f****d up but i know how to handle myself).
The good part about that is the guy who trained me was the dutch national champion and european champion and almost everyone in my home town knew that. So when there was even the slightest chance someone wanted to beat me up, a friend of theirs would say "dude, dont he'll beat you to s***s" and they just say "sorry" and move off 
But like someone else said, you may not be able to take out 8 people jack chan style, as soon as the first punch or attempt at a punch is thrown at you (and this is very hard to stay focusses if you dont expect it) immediately beat the living daylights out of the closest guy you see. Totally go mental on him, 9 out of 10 times the rest will be such p*****s (hey, they gang up on you, they aren't rambo) they will run like hell.
If your really good at martial arts, you should easily take out one or two.
Personally i've only once been in a fight with more than 1 person at at ime. And i beat two of em up so g*****n fast the third just ran for cover
Offense is the best defence.
Or a gun, pref a glock

The same senario happened to my uncle as he was leaving a bar, cept it was 2 black guys to tried to rob him.
1 had a knife and they came at him, he yanked out his 45 and shot 1 in the head.
The other guy ran off and the 1 he shot is now a vegtable in a nursing home.

problem is guns are illegal in holland.
Actually getting a gunpermit takes at least 1 year, and even then you cant carry the weapon outside. Only cops are allowed to do that offduty.
If you were to shoot someone in holland in selfdefense you'd tsill go to jail for having a gun.
It's stupid. I'd be better off having someone WITH a gun shoot at me, hit me non fatally then beat him to death with a rubberdildo and shove it up his nose later then by shooting him first and saving my ass.
