People committing those acts are sick and are in need of change of some sort.

As for people who like to fantasize about torturing other humans, well, you're really no better than the molestors. You're just more numerous.

Incorrect.

26 is the base. But it depends on the individual.

Not if you're downloading it for free off of Kazaa.

someone already posted it, but here's the article again. http://wildcat.arizona.edu/papers/97/75/01_1.html

i go to the university of arizona, and i played soccer with this kid in third grade. i had no idea he went here until I picked up the paper (first edition of the semester) and he was on the front page.

like someone said above, some people just batch download porn off kazaa and then just delete the shit they don't want, or even just leave it on there and watch the stuff they like.

BRASH: read the article, they state that there is no proven correlation between watching this shit and actually having the gumption to go out and act on any of it.

personally, i think he got the book thrown at him when he shouldn't have. he should've gotten a slap on the wrist given his young age, and often the ppl that are really "into" this stuff have a lot more than the 30 or so files he had on his computer. i bet he just had a shit load of porn and of all of it they found 30 files.

10 years without the internet, not to mention that this is going to follow him for the rest of his life. he won't be able to get half the jobs he'll ever desire because he has to register as a **** offender.

Actually, he can still just work for his dad, so he's safe job wise. I played baseball with him when we were all younger. I'm definately leaning towards that what happened was that he just downloaded a ton of porn and had some child porn files. They should state how many files total were on his computer and then the % that ended up being child porn. Say 30 out of 200 videos, then it would seem as if it was random. Plus how can they tell if it's child porn or not? Don't some of the women in the videos (it was all of girls, no boys, not that it makes things better) look a lot younger than their true age? I had to be the one to break the news to my friend about his relative, it's a difficult situation definately.

There is no proven correlation, but viewing the porn supports the industry that produces it, which in turn supports the kidnapping, abuse and exploitation of children. The child(ren) are real children that are being **** abused to make the porn that he was whacking off to.

He deserves more than 10 years probation - he deserves general population in any prison in the country where the inmates can give him a taste of what it feels like to be **** exploited by those bigger and stronger.

The article also states he admitted to files on his parents computer as well - seems like pattern behavior to me. Rule of thumb: if you download porn, view it. If you even slightly suspect someone might be under age, delete the damn stuff.

Does not surprise me at all that xion supports the **** exploitation of children . Even if what xion said is true and watching child porn enough will not make you do it , it still does not matter at all because you are still enjoying watcing the **** exploitation of children . without sick f***s like them, the kids in the videos would not be hurt for life like this .

While there may or may not be some people out there that got child porn on kazza and didn't know it because it was labled as adult porn then somehow got caught by the feds for it. I highly doubt that these are the people the feds are targeting. think about it for just a moment . The whole reason the feds are doing this is because the want the people who do this shit . they don't want some random person who got it on mistake. while i don't know for sure i would guess that all the child porn they send out to catch people with on kazza is clearly labled as child porn . that would do two things , first it targets the bad people not some random guy who made a mistake and it makes the court case a slam drunk. I have a very hard time believing that if i downloaded a video named playboys best playmates and then it had 12 year olds f*****g on it so i deleated it i would be convited in any court of law. I don't think i'd even need a lawyer to get off.

everyone here should look at the people defending the child porn here and realize something about them real quick .....

First of all, child porn is not what is being defended, a person that we knew when we were kids is who is being spoken about. The issue is not being defended, I believe child pornography is wrong, so does Xion, and so does Themy, you don't have to be a genius to figure this one out Brash, but maybe in your case we need to make an exception. Blowing the posts out of proportion like that is immature and unnecessary to say in the least.

It's similar to what happened with Michael Jackson and all those people defending him saying he didn't do it even though he admitted to sleeping in the same bed as kids, that's definately a bit more f****d up in my opinion even if they didn't have **** (and I'm sure a good amount of them did), yet I've seen some of you defend him. If this guy did download the porn on purpose, then yes it is f****d up. But if this is just an incident such as the RIAA suing a ton of people for having music downloaded on their computers, then this kid deserves another shot at life.

This guy has no past history of any sort, he was a good kid and now this happens, the pieces of the puzzle just don't all seem to fit together. Hey I could just be in denial, it's possible. None of you have the right to judge a guy who an article was written about whom you've never met. If it said he admitted to fantasizing about children etc., then I'd put my foot in my mouth. Until then, take some time to think about what's going on first.

A UA student has pled guilty to charges of downloading child pornography and sharing the material over the Internet while he lived in a campus residence hall last fall, officials said.

Donilo Phillip Colich, 20, was charged with one count of attempted **** exploitation of a minor under 15, a class 2 felony, according to UAPD Sgt. Eugene Mejia.

Colich, originally indicted on 11 counts, received 10 years of probation last week, which includes no access to children and the Internet. He will also have to register as a **** offender, said Assistant County Attorney Kathleen Mayer.

On Nov. 12, 2002, an unknown person from Switzerland notified the UA webmaster that Colich had been using the KaZaA file-sharing program to download child pornography in his room in the Manzanita-Mohave Residence Hall, 1010 N. Park Ave.

The webmaster notified the computer management division on campus, which was able to trace the files back to an IP address that corresponded to Colich's computer.

UAPD confronted Colich at the residence hall, where he admitted to downloading child pornography, Mejia said.

According to reports, Colich estimated that he had between 35 to 70 different child pornography files on his computer.

He also claimed that he had not intended to find children under the age of 13, and that he had been looking for females.

Colich also admitted to having child pornography on a computer at his parents' home in California, reports stated.

An FBI computer forensics team examined Colich's personal computer and found more than 20 child pornography video files and still photographs.

He got off easy.

Your post implies you're the dimwit, please think before you type next time. Until then, keep your one sentence comebacks to yourself old man. Just because you're a cop that should be retiring in the next few years and get off to other people's tradgedies, it doesn't mean you're always right. He didn't get off easy by any means. No internet for 10 years as a college student? The library is 50% useless these days for research. He also has to register as a **** offender EVERYWHERE he moves to in the future. He gets the same sentence without the jail time as someone who raped and molested children. Look, I have nieces that are kids, so believe me I don't condone this type of behavior, but I'm also the type of person who likes to get all the facts from both sides before casting my vote. The 10 year probation however, I would agree he deserves. Not to mention the unknown person from Switzerland doesn't give the story much more credibility.

seriously, how are the people who are defending him missing the part of the article where it clearly says that he admitted to downloading the child porn. he didnt deny it, saying it was an accident, he admitted to downloading child porn. let him f*****g burn.

did you miss the part where if he didn't enter into a plea bargain he would serve jail time? I'd still like to find out a bit more information before I go and call him a child molestor.

i didnt call him a child molestor, hes half a step from a child molestor.

he would have served jail time if he was convicted. sounds to me like he knew he was going to be convicted, because he was guilty and they could prove it, so he took the easiest way out, and got what he deserved.

Your post makes you sound like you're completely illiterate, thus making your argument against me weaker in my eyes. I guess you didn't read half of what I said because if you did, you would realize that it's not the most important thing to me in this situation, I was just stating why no internet sucks, you idiot. I've never been too proud to admit when I'm wrong so again I say there is a large chance I am, but until I hear his side of the story, there isn't much you can say to change my mind. I guess I'm stubborn like that. I can only pray that you and Hitachi are never on a jury regarding someone and the death penalty. For some reason I can see you giving someone the electric chair on the first day of trial.

oh shit, im quick to judge someone for ADMITTING TO DOWNLOADING CHILD PORNOGRAPHY, i guess i cant have an objective opinion.

damn what if i was part of a jury where the cops found a guy with his c**k in the eye socket of a 90 year old woman. I BETTER TALK TO HIM BEFORE I CONDEMN HIM.

You'd be suprised what they see on Kazaa, I go a letter from my ISP and from..Miramax? or whatever company it was when my roomate downloaded matrix3. Didn't have to pay a fine just sign stating it wouldnt happen again. As for this whole issue.. I don't know I think it's all pretty f****d up, Age of consent varies from 14-18 in states. I know a lot of 16 and 17 year old girls I would have **** with without feeling guilty if the age of consent wasn't 18 here, but it is so I follow it. I think there is a HUGE HUGE difference between having porn of some 16 or 17 year old vs a couple 6 year olds. It's not in the same ballpark, it's not the same league, it's not even the same f*****g sport. We won't know what he had, but 20 total files? That's like nothing, I mean he could of downloaded that during one night. IMO there is a lot of "porn" out there that is way sicker then stuff beastiality / scat / hardcore bdsm / rape etc. If they are gonna charge people then they should make the laws more just with less room for error. Hell I bet even Kbarr agrees with that statement. Any person downloading real child porn on purpose SHOULD f*****g burn, but some dude who downloaded a video of 2 high school lesbians is hardly a spawn of satan.

30 out of 200 means 15% of what you have is kiddie porn . that is not random .ashwynd , rather than just defend your friends actions why not give us some real facts about the case . tell us what he had on his PC , the real numbers and the titles of the porn ....

I guess i am wondering how much child porn you all think is ok to have on your PC ? 1 pic , 10 pics , 100....... where do you draw the line and say now it is not ok . I know i for one have had tons of porn on my PC and the very few pics i thought even might be kiddie porn i deleate the moment i saw it . now if your friend is downloading so much porn he doesn;t even know that he has it , he also knows he is taking a risk that some of it may very well be kiddie porn. Somehow i doubt he was completely oblivious to the fact that he had child porn on his PC or took any steps to get rid of it .

Again i am 99% sure it would not be legal for the feds to post kiddie porn with adult titles then come bust you for having it.Your friend prolly downloaded it because he is a sick f**k or even maybe just because he was curious just once . doesn't matter which one he is because they both suport the child porn industry and make a demand for it. Not careing about the little kids who are made to do horrible things. if it was something like that and he only had the one pic im sure he will get a nothing charge or have like a 90% chance of beating it in court with even a shit ass lawyer .....

How would you feel if he was beating off to a pic of some guy sucking your sons d**k or your 12 year old girl forced to suck some guys d**k as his friend f***s her in the ass ? these may not your kids hes looking at but they are someones ........

How much is ok? None is ok... It's a huge difference from an adult who can chose to pose nude, have **** and have their pictures taken for money, etc.. a child has no comprehension of what any of that means, it's exploitation. Any sicko who creates child pornography, views child pornography or thinks its ok to view child pornography really shouldn't be wasting any oxygen from good old mother earth.

He admitted to downloading kiddie porn on multiple computers! Sheesh, case closed and lock him up.

Wow, you are on the correct side on an issue.

you would hope this would have be one of those topics everyone could agree on, no matter how much they disagree with each other on other issues.

Agreed! Mugaaz for prez!

They should state how many files total were on his computer and then the % that ended up being child porn. Say 30 out of 200 videos, then it would seem as if it was random. Plus how can they tell if it's child porn or not?
30 out of 200 is NOT random.

id say something like 30 out of 30,000 would be random. f*****g 1 out of 200 isnt random.

I like how you twist the issues and make it sound as if I condone having kiddy porn on the computer.
