Actually, this is exactly the reason why there are laws in place. Please note the 'if it wasn't illegal' part. He can control himself *because* it is illegal.
While I would agree that there are young people that are capable of consent before they reach legal age, the legal system has to set an age at which it is determined that a large majority can consent. These laws don't just protect against forcible rape, but also mental/emotional coercion, and just plain bad judgment. From a psychological point of view, young people are experiencing overwhelming **** responses and are learning how to deal with them. Since we do not live in a perfect world in which responsible adults realize this and react accordingly, laws are required that protect the young not just from predators, but from themselves.
Given the difficulty of proving rape in our legal system, having these laws in place is necessary. If our system required that a young woman (or man) had to go through what adult victims are put through, there would be almost no protection under law except in the most extreme and/or easily tried cases. |

The leap between 16 and 18 is rather small and legal in any state i believe. can be over 18 as long as you are within two years of eachother.
20 year old man and a 9th grader ( 15 year old ) is not even comparable with your situation

What you are talking about is a long-term relationship in which one member reaches the age of majority before the other, and the age difference is minor. The reason why many states went with 16 as the age of consent (some contain provisions such as age difference, etc) is for situations you just described.
What Mugaaz is referring to is different on many levels.

donalo is one year younger then us so at the time he was 19, what is the difference in an 18 year old male having **** or watchign something with a 15 or 16 year old that much different than a 19 year old male watching or participating in the same thing?? in Washington state the cut off is 21 years old which i can see as a good cut off range. I think that any male on here who was not even the slightest bit attracted to someone who is not "18" whilst they were 19 is a complete bullshitter. so since you are 26 yes it is gross for you to think of 9th graders attractive, but at 18 or 19 can you say the same?

Watching child pornography is illegal no matter if you are 18 and like younger girls, or 19 and like younger girls. It really doesn't matter what your preference is or what your "instinctive urges" tell you, child pornography....is illegal. Watching, downloading, distributing, owning, recording etc...
Do you really want to legalize the production of films that present 15 and 16 year olds as **** objects? You want to legalize the right to view these pornographic movies?

I fail to see how I am so misunderstood.
I do not prowl Elementary School playgrounds in a trenchcoat and dark glasses looking for victims to coerce into bed with me.
Some of you have nothing better to do then judge others from your percieved notions of morality that are reinforced by law, you are usually the ones bashing posters in religion threads, or jumping on the hate the Croc Hunter bandwagon.
I am a naturalized citizen of the United States. As such I willingly chose this country to become a citizen of, and in doing so I agreed to follow all it's laws to the absolute best of my ability and do my civic duty. as best as I am able. Sometimes when I am driving in the 25mph zone, I see no reason why I couldn't safely drive 35. But guess what? I still drive 25 becuase that's the law.
I do not look for underage girls in my sparetime to engage in ****. Also I have no idea who this person is in the article, I've never met or spoken to them. If a member of the female **** is attractive to me that means just that - she is ATTRACTIVE, you think she is attractive becuase she is **** exciting you and your body is triggering chemicals and emotions to trigger you into having ****. This usually happens at age 14-16 for most.
I *WANT* to have **** with any women I find attractive, why? BECUASE SHE IS ATTRACTIVE. I'd bone Demi Moore or Nicole Kidman and they are in their late 30's or early 40's. That's 15-20 years older then me. Does that make me a pervert? No, it means I have a functioning penis and testicles between my legs. It's not a crime for me to say that if the law was different I would of had **** with her. In fact if I lived in a different state I could of legally had **** with her all I wanted. I didn't have to "coerce" her, I don't have to "coerce" any girl, but if I did I doubt I would find much difference in the challenge involved in doing so based on their age within certain limits. At all.
The desire to have **** is based virtually entirely on physical appearance. Don't believe me? Want proof? When I was in high school and a day in day out Everquest player I weighed 245 pounds and looked like shit. I got no play at all. When i quit I got into bodybuilding, and completely changed my appearance. I'd say right now I'm within a year of attaining society's vision of a perfect body and appearance. I made it my goal to do so and have been very successful at it. Now I get phone numbers without asking for them, I meet girls no problem, I'm more successful at job invterviews. I even get higher grades in speech class. All becuase of my appearance.

I am a naturalized citizen of the United States. As such I willingly chose this country to become a citizen of, and in doing so I agreed to follow all it's laws to the absolute best of my ability and do my civic duty. as best as I am able. If a member of the female **** is attractive to me that means just that - she is ATTRACTIVE, you think she is attractive becuase she is **** exciting you and your body is triggering chemicals and emotions to trigger you into having ****. This usually happens at age 14-16 for most.
I *WANT* to have **** with any women I find attractive, why? BECUASE SHE IS ATTRACTIVE. I'd bone Demi Moore or Nicole Kidman and they are in their late 30's or early 40's. That's 15-20 years older then me. Does that make me a pervert? No, it means I have a functioning penis and testicles between my legs. I see no reason to find me finding them attractive any more disgusting then some 15 or 16 year old girl who is grinding against me at a party turning me on. It's happened before, the girl was a friend of a friend at the party and was cute. She was obviously even more **** interested in me then I was in her. But I didn't even fool around with her becuase she was underage and it was illegal.
It's not a crime for me to say that if the law was different I would of had **** with her. In fact if I lived in a different state I could of legally had **** with her all I wanted. I didn't have to "coerce" her, I don't have to "coerce" any girl, but if I did I doubt I would find much difference in the challenge involved in doing so based on their age within certain limits. At all.
The desire to have **** is based virtually entirely on physical appearance. Don't believe me? Want proof? When I was in high school and a day in day out Everquest player I weighed 245 pounds and looked like shit. I got no play at all. When i quit I got into bodybuilding, and completely changed my appearance. I'd say right now I'm within a year of attaining society's vision of a perfect body and appearance. I made it my goal to do so and have been very successful at it. Now I get phone numbers without asking for them, I meet girls no problem, I'm more successful at job invterviews. I even get higher grades in speech class. All becuase of my appearance.

My point is that **** attractiveness is based mostly on appearance. If a girl appears attractive to you then you are full of shit for saying would not want to have **** with her. If you're on a diet and only eat chicken breasts, you don't break your diet by seeing a piece of pizza and thinking it looks tasty. You break it, or in this case - the law, by eating it, or her.

It really doesn't matter what your preference is or what your "instinctive urges" tell you, child pornography....is illegal. Watching, downloading, distributing, owning, recording etc...
Do you really want to legalize the production of films that present 15 and 16 year olds as **** objects? You want to legalize the right to view these pornographic movies?
Are you also saying that kids should be able to have **** at younger ages, legally? You really think that a 15 year old girl or boy should be able to have **** with older people if she/he wants to, and vice versa?
What do you propose as a suggested age limit for consentual **** and pornographic involvement of any kind? 17? ...16?....should I go lower? |
hate to break it to ya but in georgia the age of consent is 13, not sure if that is to only have **** with 20 year olds or what not but it is 14. so before you go off running your mouth you should know that it isn't 18 all around. i don't understand why the legal age to participate in prnography is 18 if the child is deemed mentally capable to have **** in the first place. why? because they could have **** with some random guy who is going to tape it or exploit them, it is THEIR choice!

there is a huge different in consenting to **** and consenting to be in a porno at the age of 13, not to mention i really doubt that the age of consent is 13 in georgia without parental consent. so link pls.
