i have been trying to sell my f*****g murloc suit key for weeks and they keep cancelled it for different reasons. first they cancelled because i included the beta key in the auction and then they said they have a rule against selling beta software - so i relist it with just the murloc key. that get cancelled with some vague notice about copyrights.

finally they suspended my account and said that virtual items are totally prohibited, which they completely failed to mention while they were cancelling my auctions. how is anyone supposed to know they prohibit virtual item sales when there are ALWAYS auctions up for them?!

You can try selling a pencil with a free photograph of a murloc key. Nobody uses eBay for virtual trading since theres sites set up to allow it i.e. Realpoor.

Virtual Item sales are actually stealing... Lets say you make a game, and some guy sells an item you put into the game.. its technically your item, not theres.. THATS ILLEGAL....

I heard it takes Blizzard 24 hours to post a copyright complaint thing through vero, so if you make the auction 24 hours i think you can get away with things like that.

Their policy is very strict and as someone mentioned before it might be difficult to sell virtual property

the last auction i posted before they suspended my account was a 24 hour with a buyout - someone actually bought it out and they cancelled it even AFTER the item was sold, so the buyer would not go through with the transaction because they assumed something was up.

My eBay account was suspended because of my brother. He's the kind of person that'll just skip the ToS of anything completely and then get banned and complain that he didn't know. I guess that's life.

the reason i kept posting the auction is because they kept giving me different reasons for why they cancelled it. then they would allow me to click 'relist,' change the wording to something i thought made it safe, and then post it again. if there was no way for me to make the auction agree with the ToS at all, why was it eligible for relisting every time?

Try selling it as a service rather than the actual item. Maybe try selling a guide to get it for sure or something? I always wanted to try that.

What I use to do was actually post it for 24 hours and sell it lower than usual. And hope that people purchase it...it's somewhat weird how things have changed. When I try to post a WoW Sale, it seems to take forever compared to my other auctions. But then again this was years ago (2) and things may be different now.

Yes, it's true that they can be very strict. However it is not against the rules to include the murrloc key thingy with a pencil (provided that the pencil is the main auction). Sorta like a Mystery auction.

I agree, f**k Ebay. I'm not very happy about this selling things on the internet, I only started last week. Sold two items on Ebay, havn't been paid for either of them.

Well I tell you, i'm not sending them until I get the money.

Ebay has turned to complete crap.

Ebay is so bad you can't even sell tangible items either. I tried to sell a laptop 6 times - every single time it was bid on either by accounts from nigeria or hacked US accounts with the obvious intent of scamming me. Everytime an auction failed I was out like $100 because ebay charges a huge fee depending on how much your items sells for, they did refund the charges all 6 times, but it was just too much of a pain in the ass to continue trying to sell there.

In the end I just sold the laptop locally through craigslist, it took me about 2 hours to find a buyer, and the next day he was at my door with cash. Alot faster and efficient than ebay, and no fees so I was able to sell lower and still make the same amount of money.

Well i am on eBay's side. Selling intangible items is risky, and evidence can be altered/misplaced etc.. and since the laws on fraud via virtual items/intangible items are slack, its not worth the time and effort to allow them to be traded. When people, like on here start using intangible items for scamming purposes, who gets the bad rep? eBay.

I see why people have done that. Just like some brass knuckles I have seen on Ebay lol. Brass knuckle on a cheap chain. Probably risky if you buy it and it ends up being small.

I hate Ebay =\
A lot of fake items such as clothes \ shoes etc.

Ebay was good before governments started seeing the possible tax revenue from it , with VAT on powersellers, capital gains etc , makes it very tiresome finding a good deal.
