i know a guy who's looking for a really good flight simulator, something that would help 'train' him in the art of flying.
MS Flight Sim Pro was recomended to me. Are there any others? Does anyone have Flight Sim Pro that they could upload to me?
Thanks.

Your friend is a terrorist, isn't he?
As far as good flight sims go, I have no idea, my guess would be any of the latest Microsoft Flight sims, I think there is usually a few different ones out at any given time

if he wants the training to help him out with getting a pilot's license in the future, flight sims aren't going to do that for him. they'll give him a basic understanding of flight mechanics and how an aircraft might respond, but that's something you learn really fast (or already know) anyway.
the hard part is getting comfortable in the cockpit and being able to do a lot of multitasking (being able to navigate, control the aircraft systems, keep up required radio chatter, etc)

well he owns a sub shop so i guess he could be a terrorist! *shrug*
thanks for the info Faerdal. i'll be sure to relay that too him. but the question still stands, what's the most realistic flight sim out there. MS Flight Sim seems to be the most recomended, but is that just because it's well known?

Top Gun for the NES is the best flight simulator game ever.

I think X-Plane (www.x-plane.com) is much more realistic than MS Flight Sim.
And flight sims can help him get started much more cheaply than the $100+/hour to rent a plane and instructor. It helps to be familiar with all the instruments when you get in the cockpit for the first time. He will have to spend the minimum 40 hours flying, regardless, but going in with some familiarity might cut down his training time from 60 to 50 hours and save him some money.
