Damn "About:Blank" wont go away.
I even have a HiJackthis log but dont know enough about what to delete.

I'm a simpleton when it comes to editing registry, so need a step by step I can understand.

Spybot, Spyhunter, and Ad-aware don't get rid of it.

edit:
Fixed with hijack this and Isriam's link

Down load spysweeper trial. google for it. The publisher is webroot.

Install it, update it. Run it. If the problem persists after rebooting after the sweep. Reboot into safe mode and run it again.

The evil empire has their own spyware killer now. Works better than Adaware and Spybot for me.

I downloaded/used every adware remover known to man, and I couldn't get rid of that about:blank.

I wound up reformatting.

After trying many different things, this is the one that helped me, about 3 weeks ago. This, combined with Norton, and Zone Alarm pro, is keeping my comp clean.

spysweeper keeps saying it fixed it, but it keeps coming back.

Someone here has to know about editing the registry settings that stop it.

Going to go scour Isriam's link now.

nothing worked so far.
Everything cleans spyware. No problem.
Homepage still resets to About:blank

Will take a look at spyware doctor.
But at this point, it doesn't look like spyware problems are it. Something is embedded in the registry I need to change to keep it from reinstalling itself.

gluck, dont forget to open settings and reset home page to google or whatever instead of the about blank as well.

im not toally sure what this is *an im too lazy to read up on it as it doesnt effect me* but if im correct in my assumptions you home page of browser is opening to some about blank page. /shrug

so ya hehe thats my advice.. once ya get it clean dont forget to reset homepage settings so it doesnt open to it all over again.
