Pomp and Circumstance No 1 by Elgar. Closely followed by Hall of the Mountain King by Grieg.
Wait no, "O Fortuna" by Carl Orff has to be my favourite (think Excalibur if you don't recognise the name).

Eduin

My big problem here is that I have no clue what the titles are of the compositions I like :p I listen to them on variety cds or on digital music...I like them....just don't know what their names are :p

The Ride of the Valkries by Wagner
The Barber of Seville by Rossini
I love Chopin but these two pieces are by far my favorite. Probably because I'm simple and loved A Now and Bugs Bunny.

Don't get me wrong, Ride of the Valkyries is a decent piece of music but in terms of style and movement, it is *way* behind O Fortuna by Orff (although clearly whoever was first must have been a strong influence on whoever was second).

Oh, I nearly forgot one. Well I did forget it.
John Williams Theme from Star Wars is utterly amazing as a piece of music, regardless of it being derived for a film. If Williams had been writing his shit 200 years ago for orchestra audiences rather than films, he'd be up there with Handel, Beethoven and Mozart.

Eduin

1812 overture is nice.
Anything with violins is purdy.
I hate pianos. I hate the way they sound, I hate the way most piano music is written. Unfortunately, I love the feeling of playing them.
Kronos Quartet doesn't classify as 600 year old Classical music but I still like em.

the looney tunes theme doesnt count.
"The Merri-go-round Broke Down" has words.
Although, I forget them at the moment. I had most of it memorized.

Since when does "classical music" mean "no singing". Does that mean I can't pick Die Zauberflote?

I concur with Zapper. And I might be mistaken but I think it was written/composed by Wagner (German)
