Vek, go back to law school.
That's if you ever went. I strongly suspect you lie about that shit seeing as I know more about laws than you do.
People are sued every goddamned day over things much less than the whirlwind of shit Moore has been saying about Bush.
You lie Vek. You may have *gone* to school, but you didn't finish the first year apparently.
*edit* Even all these years where there have been posts where a real lawyer could have been useful.... you never chime in once with any good info. You don't know shit about law, do you?

I know lawyers. Been around them my whole life seeing as my mom has worked in the same law firm since my birth.
Know them on the business end too. One could say I'm very familiar with lawyers in general.
You sir, are far from one. You know jack and shit. All these years of posts and I cannot remember ONE SINGLE f*****g POST where what you said wasn't some 2nd grade version of the law regurgitated.
You're a big f*****g liar. Just like your President. Fitting.

Also, the Clintons sued many people over the course of their term for slanderous and libel claims.
Why hasn't Bush?

Megalo, I don't know why I bother.
People sue all the time, how often does a public figure actually win a libel suit? RARELY
Did you not read the multiple posts stating that Moore is very careful, and frames all his attacks as questions, or with other people's words? Or that a sitting president is not going to sue someone for libel? Did your hero Clinton win any lawsuits against the right wing freaks while he was under attack? Nope.
The bottom line is Bush is above that petty shit, he does his job and lets Moore babble, because Moore only makes Democrats look bad with his crap.
----------
As for the law school attack. I went to NYU, enrolled in fall 1997, withdrew during the spring 1999 semester, finished 3 semesters of courses with a B/B- average because I hated it and rarely went to classes past the 1st semester. Should have quit after 1 semester. Courses (and instructors when I can remember) included Civil Procedure (prof Barbara Hershfeld), Torts (Prof Mark Geistfeld), Constitutional Law (Sager?), Contracts (Prof Liam Murphy), Criminal Law (Prof Paul Chevigny, Lawyering (Legal Research adn Writing skills with some adjunct), Corporations, Property (prof Mark Upham), Income Taxation (visiting prof from Stanford, Friedman maybe) and a few electives.
The reason I do not quote any specific laws or "lawyerly b******t" is that I do not waste my time researching for a message board of this level, I talk off hte top of my head as do most people here. it has also been 5 years now since I was enrolled and I have been doing my best to block those years of my life out.

Law isn't my specialty. I have to go lookup everything I saw regarding law because it doesn't just flow off the top of my head.
It doesn't take a law student to figure out that if someone directly profits off of slander or libel, that person will easily be defeated in court and have to pay up.
Easily. So forgive me, but I don't understand why you do not know this already?
*edit* tell ya what...that fat piece of shit made a movie about me like that (and you know his fat ass is eating well), I'd sue his ass every which way I could think of. And I don't have 50 lawyers on retainer either! I hate that f****r. If it were me, I'd make his life miserable.
But nobody has touched him. That's fishy if he's lying so much.

It's really simple, if a sitting US Repulblican President sued a movie maker it would cause such a firestorm of "OMG censorship!!!! Bush is a Nazi!!!!!" from you and the dems/libs and the media it would be political suicide.

here's your factcheck:
Summary
A Kerry ad implies Cheney has a financial interest in Halliburton and is profiting from the company's contracts in Iraq. The fact is, Cheney doesn't gain a penny from Halliburton's contracts, and almost certainly won't lose even if Halliburton goes bankrupt.
The ad claims Cheney got $2 million from Halliburton "as vice president," which is false. Actually, nearly $1.6 million of that was paid before Cheney took office. More importantly, all of it was earned before he was a candidate, when he was the company's chief executive.
Analysis
A Kerry ad released Sept 17 once again attacks Cheney's ties to Halliburton, implying that Cheney is profiting from the company's contracts in Iraq. That's false.
That's an out and out lie. You yourself can track down other sites that can show you photocopies of his financial records.
Factcheck.org is not the Bible Pank. Although it may have a few more truths than the Bible.

I didn't say it was the Bible and I didn't quote it here .
I quoted some other guy who pointed out 59 "distortions" in Mr Moore's movie you responded to the wrong thread.
Anyway to respond, Factcheck.org seems to be pretty damn even handed on their corrections/criticisms of both candidates. They also busted Cheney in a later article for stretching during his debate about this very issue.

So is Fox News for the most part Pank, but that doesn't stop liberals from saying they're right wing advocates and biassed towards Bush!

Jarec,
I would honestly like to know why you would vote for Bush. Easy for you to sick and mock what I say, but what are the beliefs in that thick skull of yours?
Might give us all the insight we need on your opinion.

Why am I voting for Bush?
Because he is a straight talking individual whose policies I like and has ideals that are similar to my own. He's a man of action who in addition to fighting terrorism around the world also takes on liberalism and pacifism.

So, in your mind, sending people over to Iraq and killing everyone in sight, reducing that country to rubble, was justified how?
Your straight talking man lied to all of us over THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE OF THIS DECADE.
I am amazed at how you people form your opinions! You know you actually used the words "straight talking"????
About ANY politician? You're naive or a complete moron.
Which is it?

Let's be clear about these people. They're the men and women of the US and other country's armed forces who admittedly have a very difficult job to do, but nevertheless deserve our respect. That's not intended to be

Except that they're not killing everyone in sight! Justified? The actions we took were necessary to remove Saddam and his Ba'ath party regime from ruling in Iraq.

This decade is not even half over. To be perfectly honest, in the next four I think we're going to see some things emerge that are of even greater importance than Iraq was. Things like what are we going to do about Iran and North Korea.
| Quote: | | You know you actually used the words "straight talking"???? |
Straight talking in the sense that when Bush says something, it's very simple to understand what he means and you can easily tell what side of an argument or position he stands for. That's something you can't do with Kerry or many other politicians for that matter. |

Sorry for the old bump but this one really made me laugh: Michael Moore a 'Total Ass'
| Quote: | President Bush's father is denouncing liberal filmmaker Michael Moore as a "total ass, slimeball" whose "lies about my family [are] outrageous."
Former President George H. Bush is specifically referring to Michael Moore's movie "Fahrenheit 9/11," which accuses President Bush of letting alleged ties to the Saudi royal family dictate his decisions.
As for the current presidential race, the former president says it makes him nervous, insisting "A couple more weeks of this stuff, and I'll get [ulcers]."
