The revolution, my dear, has been in progress for many years now. As the older folks wither up and die, they are being replaced by newer and decidedly more secular generations that are slowly changing the political tone of the country. And I'm not talking about people my age alone, I'm talking about people our kids' age as well. Can you honestly tell me that the country is in the same shape now that it was in 100 years ago? 50 years ago? The big things before were women's lib, civil rights, etc. Those were all revolutions, and not a single one of them required masses of screaming people shooting at each other in the streets as the reactionary folks tend to secretly wish for.

if you killed everyone you dissagree with I claim that:
-bipartisanship would end
-people needed to run most everything would be gone.
The first day would be nice because you wouldn't have to think about how to save face on the board most people hate you on.
the second day would suck because you would have to kill about another 30% of the nation who have recently embraced another form of thinking in hopes to solve the national disaster due to an enormous lack of workforce in many places.
the third day your water would stop running
the fourth day your car would run out of gas, and the electricity would fail, and you would have to go outside to see what is going on in the world, aside from the total collapse of the government and massive looting and pillaging across the globe.
you would then have to kill off another 70-75% of the remaining people who now think you're a complete a*****e licker.
The remainng people are too mentally disabled to concieve ANY political views, or are stupid by choice (ie you).
the firth day you would get hungry because your fridge is empy, and you're worked up quite an appetite killing millions of people. you go out and decide to hunt.
the sixth day you finally caught something, but are about 10lbs lighter since you haven't done much more than upper body work at the gym. Running? no you don't do that at the gym, winners don't run right?
the seventh day you, and your select few (about 10 thousand people) would remain. you would lose your ability to kill people with mere thuoghts, and those around you, now realizing you do not have the ability to slay them at will, will do the obvious and kill you for killing their friends and family.
The eighth day canada would invade from the north, mexico from the south. The lands would engage in a few gun battles, but no real military movement would happen since many of the officers would have been killed already.
Having learned the entire nation is in shambles other nations would seize the opportunity and invasions and mass wars would errupt. people die, and the world population is returned to a confortable status.
Thousands of countries economies lose balance now that their main consumer is missing while others send their own forces to take a piece of the massive pie. These nations errupt into fighting and the world is baked by nuclear warheads.
everyone dies except for a couple cockroaches named kbarr and confused.

I didn't say there would never be a civil war. It's possible, for sure. The term being thrown around, however, was "revolution" which is leaps and bounds more ambiguous in nature than "civil war".
